Charles A. Quiggle, Vernon
In 1880 Webster County, Nebraska, Robert Quiggle is farming, 45, Ruth 28.
They have Laura 12, Charles 11, Earnest 3, and Rolin ten months.
Robert Quiggle was licensed to run a pool hall in Rosemont, Webster, County in 1914.
Robert 1836-1921 is buried in Webster County, # 42222950,
with Ruth A. (Hughs) Quiggle 1851-1930 # 42223051.

(John Robert Green, 88, of McCook died Sunday, October 26, 1986, at the Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman. He was born June 19, 1898, in Webster County to Stephen and Laura (Quiggle) Green, the youngest son in a family of 10 children.
The family moved to a farm in 3-36 precinct in Dundy County in February of 1906, where he lived until the spring of 1937 when he moved to McCook. He resided there until November 1, 1985, when he entered the Hester Memorial Nursing Home in Benkelman.
John was married to Lora Stumbaugh Dunn on April 4, 1931, and she preceded him in death February 27, 1983. Also preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers: Harve, George, Erne and Earl; one sister, Nellie, and one stepson, Lyle Dunn.
Survivors include four sisters: Mrs. Boyd (Clara) Raichart of Max, Mrs. George (Emma) McBride of Gering, Mrs. Ivan (Olive) Browning of Denver, and Mrs. George (Ann) Wedge of Ontario, Oregon; two stepsons, Loral Dunn of McCook and Loran Audlie Dunn of Hesperia, California, and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Gene (Leta) Maloney of Tuscola, Illinois.

In 1880 Webster County, Thomas J. Wright is 33, Celia 31, Audrie L. 8, and Roy D. three months.
Audrie Wright is in Webster County in 1885, 16, daughter of Thomas J. 40 and Candace C. 37. sister Daisy L. is ten months old.
Thomas died in 1896 in Webster County, and Candace and Daisy are alone in 1900.
Audra's mother Candace is likely the one in 1910 Akron Colorado, a milliner, widowed, 62, born in Kentucky. She's had three dids, one living.
She moved to Los Angeles, dying there in 1925.
(Daisy and Samuel Williams were in Nebraska in 1900 and 1910, and in Cheyenee County, Colorado in 1920. Daisy born Augut 7, 1883 in Nebraska, died July 31, 1942 in Los Angeles. Father was Wright, mother Dillon.)

on Feb 6, 1894 in Faruence (maybe Florence), Nebraska.
In 1900 Webster County, Nebraska, Charles Quiggle is farming,
born March 1869 in Iowa. Audra June 1872 in Illinois,
have Carl Dec 1891, Jettie Feb 1894, Robert Aug 1896,
and Arthur Feb 1900, all four born in Nebraska.
Audra L. (Wright) Quiggle 1872-1908 is buried in Vernon,
# 79874952.
"Died, April 16, 1908, at her home four miles southwest of Vernon,
Andrie L. Quiggle, wife of Charles Quiggle, aged 35 years, 9 months,
and 29 days. Andrie L. Wright was born June 17, 1872, and was married
to Charles Quiggle January 19, 1891. Five children blessed their union,
all of whom are living. Besides her husband and the children,
her mother, Mrs. C. C. Wright, of Los Angeles, California,
and her sister, Mrs. Daisy Williams, of Fairfield, Nebraska, survive
her, and they, with numerous friends and neighbors,
mourn their irreparable loss.
Interment was made at the Glendale cemetery, April 20, 1908."
June 6, 1902 " Mrs. Sam Williams, sister of Mrs. Charles Quiggle who resides west of town,
departed Tuesday night for her home at Beatrice, Nebraska."
C.A. Quiggle, 40, married C. Comb on January 26, 1910 in Vernon.
In 1910 Yuma County, Charles is farming, 41,
second marriage of both for him and Chella 29.
Robert is 14, Arthur 10, both born in Nebraska. Irma is 7 born in Colorado. Chella's kids ResnerCoombs 8, Taylor 6, and Margaret 5 were born in Colorado.
December 1913 "Mrs. Charles Quiggle will take a trip to California next week to visit with relatives."
"Notice is hereby given that on and after this date,
I will not be responsible for any debts or expenses contracted by my wife, Chella E. Quiggle.

October 26, 1911 "Mrs. Eli Staininger's boarding and lodging house
changed hands last Monday. Mrs. Chella E. Quiggle, who is the buyer,
took charge the first of the week and is planning to run a clean
up-to-date hotel and desires the patronage of all the former
customers as well as the new ones."
February 1912 "Charlie Quiggle has commenced to move his farm
implements to the Briggs farm close to Wray, as he has rented that farm
for the coming year."
Charles married Chilla Quiggle on November 10, 1912 in Yuma County.
June 5, 1913 "Mrs. Quiggle left for her home at Blue Hill, Nebr.,
Friday night after visiting her son, Charley, of this place,
who has been quite sick the past week or ten days."
October 1916 "Charles Quiggle and sons, and Mr. Brigham of near Vernon,
who had been on an auto trip into Wyoming and Montana,
returned last Friday."

Chella is 39, born in Missouri. Maggie Combs, Chella's daughter is 13, born in Kansas. They have Charles 7 and Verna 6, both born in Colorado.
In 1930 Yuma County, Charles is 61, farming, widowed. Robert 34 and his wife
Mary 36 are with him.
Charles A. Quiggle 1869-1947 is buried in Vernon # 79919477.
The 1880 census of Caldwell County, Missouri has Chelly E. Starling, 9, born in North Carolina. Shank Starling 34 and mary E. 36y have John W. 16, Pharo 12, Delano 14, and James P. 12, all born in North Carolina. Deamas C. 7, Dallas R. 5, adn Dock newborn were all born in Missouri.
Mary Elizabeth (Ward) Starling 1844-1916 is buried in Topeka # 69386165.
Ananias Meschack Abednigo Starling 1846-1929 died in Wray, buried in Topeka,
Kansas # 69386108.
September 30, 1910 "James P. Starling, living 3 miles east of
Vernon and 2 miles south will have a sale on Thursday Oct. 6th.
Horses, cows, hogs, chickens, farm implements, cane, hay
, potatoes, household furniture etc will be sold.
Usual terms with 12 months time, Jones auctioneer."
January 14, 1915 " Mrs. S. Starling arrived home from Franklin,
Neb., last Friday, after spending two weeks visiting friends
and relatives there. Mrs. Starling lives west of Vernon."
March 16, 1916 "James Starling, who resides on the W. J. Weller
farm several miles south of Wray, was delivering corn
to the market here Tuesday."
May 29, 1919 S. P. Starling and daughter Hazel were taking treatment at the Dr. Brown sanitarium in Wray.
December 1915 " Bert Starling is hauling lumber to finish his house on the land he bought a short time ago ."
Charles and Chilla Quiggle divorced in Yuma County in 1929.
Mrs. Chilla Elizabeth Quiggle, a resident of Merced, California
for the past 26 years, died at her home here on Olive Ave.
Tuesday morning, May 4, 1954. Death came on her 83rd birthday.
Graveside services and entombment will be held at Evergreen Memorial
Park Thursday at 2 p.m.. The Rev. Otto Schmidt of Atwater will
officiate. Arrangements are in charge of the Solis and Seavy
Funeral Home. Friends are asked to make contributions to the
Heart Fund in honor of the deceased's memory.
Survivors include two daughters Mrs. Clarence Smith and Mrs. Vina Dunn, both of Merced; two sons, Roosevelt Combs of Livington and Taylor Combs of Merced; two brothers and three grandchildren. "

In 1910 "Cone" born 1892 in Missouri and brother Jett are farming in Yuma County.
December 1912 "Fred Sherupp of south of Eckley delivered twelve head
of cattle to Chas. Yenter Monday and was in Wray over that night.
He has sold all of his stock and farming machinery and rented his farm
for the coming year to Carl Quiggle, and will leave for Hanson, Idaho, in
a couple of weeks."
December 1913 "Carl Quiggle is delivering corn to Wray this week."
February 1914 "Jet and Carl Quiggle hauled corn
from the John Burns ranch the first of the week."
November 1914 "Carl Quiggle was putting down a well on his homestead last week."
Carl proved up two quarters in sections 14 and 23,
2S 46W in 1918.
He registered for WWI with a Mildred, Colorado address, born Dec 13, 1891 at Laurence, Nebraksa, farming , with a wife and one child.
Carl S. and Agnes I. Quiggle divorced in Yuma County in 1926.
Carl married Ruth Cauffman on July 5, 1933, recorded in Huerfano County.

In 1910 "Cone" born 1892 in Missouri and brother Jett are farming in Yuma County.
March 20, 1913 "Miss McDermott gave a fine entertainment at the Sweazy schoolhouse last
Friday night. The boxes, pie and cake netted over $20. Mrs. Docia Kelly took the cake and
Chet Quiggle got the pie for being the homeliest man."
Jettie died in Gooding, Iowa on July 9, 1957, to be buried in Elmwood Cemetry.
ARTHUR
Vernon Arthur Quiggle of Vernon registered for WWI on June 5, 1918.
He married Louise Bauder on January 31, 1923. They had Robert Dale on Feb 12, 1924, who married Alice Drommond, then Joan Cronberg.
Robert Dale had Thomas Arthur Quiggle in 1947 in Wray.
Arthur and Louise had Dean Ordell on May 30m, 1926, who married Joan Richards in 1952, and they had William in 1954 and Teresa in 1956.
Arthur 1900-1967 is buried in Vernon, with Louis (Bauder) Quiggle 1896-1986.
ROBERT
May 22, 1913 "Robert Quiggle, a farmer living several miles south west of Vernon,
was a business caller to the principal city of Yuma county last Saturday."
Robert T. Quiggle, 30, married Anna Mary Bauder in Yuma County on October 5, 1926.
In 1930 Yuma County, Charles is 61, farming, widowed. Robert 34 and his wife
Mary 36 are with him.
In 1940 Yuma County, Robert is 43, married eight years to Mary 45, both born in Colorado. They have Fern, 9.

CHARLES, Jr.
Modesto, California, December 20, 1932 "Eluding officers and relatives who were racing to forestall his announced intention,
Charles Buster Quiggle, 20, an employee of the Merced Irrigation District and the son of
Mrs. Chella Quiggle, of the Yosemite Lake area, committed suicide early this morning by shooting himself through the forehead in
front of the home of his sister, Mrs. Viola Dunn, on Sixth Street, here.
Young Quiggle was attending a party with his sister and others in the home of Mr. and Mrs. George
Macey next door. Eye witnesses declare he appeared to be under the influence of liquor
Suddenly he left the Macey home and endeavored to gain entrance into the home
of his sister next door. Finding the door locked, he broke a window, entered, and got possession of a .32 caliber revolver, the property of his brother-in-law.
The distraught youth then sped in his automobile to his mother's home
in the Yosemite Lake district and possessed himself of several ... which were the property of his half-brother Taylor Combs,
24. He awoke his mother, kissed her and informed her that he was going to kill himself and
fled from the house, entering his automobile and speeding back to Merced.
Combs telephoned Deputy Sherff Jack Gilbert who sped to the the Dunn home on R
Street with officers Ed Hamilton and Fred Zunker only to find that the youth had already killed himself in his automobile in front of the house. A
Another half-brother, Roosevelt Combs, and James Ramsey, who were guests at the party,
rushed him to the Mercy Hospital where he died at 3:30 this morning.
Relatives said to-day that Quiggle suffered injury in an accident several days ago and that physicians informed him that the injury would eventually cause his death.
