In 1900 Ray County, Missouri, John Crowley born Aug 1828
is widowed, farming. His daughter Sallie Oct 1860, and Annie Jan 1872, son Charley Jan 1859 also widowed, with Ethel S. Sept 1886, Anna V. April 1889, and John A. Sept 1891. All were born in Missouri.
Charles Crowley died in Yuma, 1859-1941 is buried in Lawson, Missouri, # 18908770.
with spouse Lydia P. Stoddard Crowley 1867-1899, # 18908772.

1904 Yuma Pioneer "The following were here last Monday
night in attendance upon the Daley-Sloan wrestling match in
the Clark opera house; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Huey, Mrs. Bryant,
Miss Frances Johnson, and Messrs. Karl Hebb, Fred Cole,
Jim La Turno, Jesse Dickson, John Davis, John Bryant,
Jim Muir, And 'Rack-em-up' John Crowley and last,
but not least, the jovial editor of the Yuma Pioneer,
Bert Jessup, who arrived .. Akron on a late train
to escort the bunch back home safely."
July 1910 "Miss Ethel Crowley, of Lawson, Mo., arrived
in Yuma on Tuesday for an extended visit with her father,
Chas. Crowley and her brother, John, of the Citizens Bank."
January 1912 "The match pool game at Ed. Selander's
pool hall last Saturday, between John Crowley and Fred Banks,
attracted considerable attention. The game was played in
three series of 100 points each and was won by Mr. Banks.
Another game will probably be played in the near future."
September 1912 "John Crowley and W. W. Williams went
to Akron yesterday afternoon. They came back the same day.
Wonder why."
May 30, 1913 "
Mr. John Crowley and Miss Jane Andersen stole a march on their
friends here, Thursday morning, by going up to Akron to have
their marriage ceremony performed. The people of Yuma have
speculated a great deal as to when the happy event was to
occur, but the young people cleverly succeeded in surprising
even their most intimate friends. From Akron they went for
a week's sight seeing at Denver and other Colorado points,
before returning to Yuma, where they will make their home.
The bride is the daughter of Peter Andersen and for
several years has presided as housekeeper in his beautiful
home in the south part of town. Mr. Crowley is the only
son of Chas. Crowley, and is assistant cashier in the
Citizens State bank.
Mr. and Mrs. Crowley have a host of friends who wish
them happiness and prosperity in their wedded life."
John proved up 320 acres in 23 and 24, 2S 46W in 1916.
His witnesses in 1914 were Davis Murphy, Sherman Riley, Jon McBride, and Geroge Butler, all of Mildred.
January 15, 1915 "Dr. Cavey announces the arrival of
a baby boy at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Crowley
at 11 oclock Tuesday morning."
March 1915 "Mr. Robert Welch, who has been here this
winter with his uncle John Crowley, returned home a few
days ago. He lives in Nebraska."
1915 Yuma 
April 1915 "Joe Andrews has bought the land that was
owned by John Crowley. We suppose that Uncle John will
probably leave here and go back to Denver. This community
will lose a good friend and neighbor, but wish him success
wherever he goes."
John Ashton Crowley registered for WWi in Yuma,
an assistant cashier at the First National Bank, with
two children. He was born Sept 23, 1892 at Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
In 1920 John is farming north of Yuma, in 4N 47W,
with Jane 26 born in Iowa. Phebe E. is 6, Charles A. 5,
and Howard F. 2.
In 1930 he's farming, but living on South Cedar Street in
Yuma, with four kids - Perry is 7.
John is buried in Yuma 1893-1933, # 48944868, with Jane E. (Anderson) Crowley 1894-1993.
January 26, 1933 
April 3, 1969 "Mrs. Jane Rice and Mrs. Margaret Kuecke spent Sunday in Arkon, Mrs. Rice with her niece, Mrs. Donia Cooley, and Mrs. Kuecke to see her younger son R. C. Kuecke.
Mrs. Jane Rice accompanied her nephew, Walter, to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to visit Harold Anderson and familly. After a visit Hrold's wife drove her to Houston where she visited the Clarence Gisi family. She then flew to Phoenix, Arizona to see her brother-in-law Earl Rice and wife. After a stop in Denver to visit old friends she came on home from a six weeks trip."
December 15, 1983 "Word has been received from San Diego California of the death of Harry Stender, husband of Jane Stender, on Sunday, Decemer 11. Mrs. Stender is the mother of Howard Crowley of Yuma, Phoebe Duffield of San Diego, and Perry Crowley of Reno, Nevada."
Jane E. Crowley Stender, one of six children, was born to Peter and Maggie (Shaw) Anderson in Corning, Iowa, on January 22, 1894. She passed away on August 29, 1993, at the Uma Life Care Center at the age of 99 years, eight months.
(In 1900 Cass County, Iowa, Jane is o6, with widowed father Peter Anderson born October 1858 in Denmark. Perrie is 16, Anna Bell 13, Dora 8, Jan 6, and James 3.
In the year of 1910, when Jane was 16 years of age, she moved to Yuma with her family. Her mother had passed away when Jane was five years of age.
In 1913, Jane was united in marriage to John Crowley who had recently moved to Yuma with his father and sister from Lawson, Missouri. To this union five children were born, Phoebe, Charles, Howard, Margaret, and Perry. Charles and Margaret preceded her in death. After spending a few years in Yuma, the family moved to the farm north of Yuma. She enjoyed her life there, gardening, raising turkeys, and attending the Prairie View Ladies Aid.
John passed away in 1933. After a few years on the farm, Jane moved to Denver where she was engaged in practical nursing.
In 1946, Jane married Norman Rice. After living in Denver and Arkansas for a few years, they moved to Yuma to make their home. Norman passed away in 1967.
October 12, 1967 
Jane moved to San Diego, California, in 1975, where at the age of 81, she married a childhood sweetheart, Harry Stender. He passed away in 1983. She continued living in San Diego in a convalescent home near her daughter, Phoebe, until March of 1990 when they returned to Yuma where Jane became a resident of Yuma Life Care Center.
She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Charles Fail.
She is survived by her daughter, Phoebe Duffield of Yuma; sons, Howard and wife, Thelma, and Perry and wife Jean, all of Yuma; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service was held Tuesday, August 31, 1993, at 2 p.m. with Rev. John Pehrson officiating. Interment was in the Yuma Cemetery with arrangements by Spellman-Schmidt-Baucke Mortuary of Yuma.

Margaret 1916-1916 is buried in Yuma # 48944869.
PERRY
In 1940 Yuma, Howard and Perry are living with their uncle Perry Anderson 56 and Pauline 54.
July 16, 1970 
In 1973 Perry was living in Reno, married.
Perry died in Osage County, Oklahoma and is buried in Yuma 1922-1999.

PHOEBE
In 1990 Phoebe Duffield moved back from San Diego, where she had lived for 48 years.
Phoebe 1914-1993 is buried in Yuma, spouse Harold 1908-1978 has an unknown burial # 170598501.
In 1975 San Diego, Mrs. Harold Duffield of La Mesa was an honor attendant "Mrs. Duffield is the daughter of the rformer Mrs. Rice." Her mother Jane Rice was marrying Harry Stender.
1986 "Visiting the Howard Crowleys this week were Howard's sister, Mrs. Phoebe Duffield and Mr.a nd Mrs. Perry Crowley of Prescott, Arizona. They all were in Greeley Sunday visiting the Jack Crowleys."

In 1911 Miss Edith Crowley was the teacher in the Yuma high school, with Supt. T. H. Hooper.
In 1920 Los Angeles Ethel C. Herrell is a music store stenographer, 32, born in Missouri, married to Arthur B. 38 Ohio, living with his parents.
1928 "Mrs. A.B. Herrell, of Los Angeles, who had been visiting with her father, Chas Crowley, of this city, and brother, John Crowley, north of Yuma, left Wednesday evening of last week for a visit with relatives at Fort Worth, Texas. Mrs. Herrell is a teacher in the junior high school in Los Angeles."
1932 
February 2, 1933 "Mrs. Ethel Herrell, who was called to Yuma by the death of her brother, John Crowley, left last Friday morning for her home in Los Angeles. Mrs. Herrell was a teacher in the local schools at one time and now holds a similar position in the California city."
1941 San Bernardino "NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that Ethel C. Herrell,
the wife of Arthur B. Herrell, an incompetent person has filed herein
a petition praying that the said Court grant its order directing the sale
of community property of herself and said Arthur B, Herrell,
an Incompetent person, described as follows: The of the NW 1/4 of
the SE 1/4 of Sec. 34, TWP 6N, R 3W, and the S 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of the SWV,
of Sec. 34, TWP 6N, R 8W, 8.B.M., County of San Bernardino, State of California. and that the 22nd day of September, 1941, at 10:00 o'clock A. M. nf said dny at the Courtroom of Bald Court, Department 2, thereof at San Bernardino In said County and State, has been set ior nearing said Petition, when and where any and all persons Interested may appear and show cause, If any thoy havo, why said Petitioner should not be granted."
