John Burrell, 44, married Matilda J. Wright on April 16, 1887 in Decatur County.
In 1900 Decatur County, John, born February 1842, is married fourteen years to Jemima, April 1860 Iowa. Willia D. is 21. John's father George born April 1821 in Arkansas, widowed, is with them.
John, born February 10, 1843 in Iowa, died April 11, 1907 in Hamilton Township, Iowa, buried in Davis City. His father was George Burrell, mother Hannah Kizzese.
In 1910 Yuma County, William is 31, with Jennie 23 born in Missouri. Maude is 7, born in Iowa, Mae 5 in Colorado.
William D. Burrell proved up two quarters in 21 and 22,
2S 46W in 1916. His witnesses were Archie Kindred, Rolla G. Eastin, Nelson Stanbrough, and Aloysious L. Brady.
August 9, 1918 "Roy Nash was visiting at the home of Davis Burrell the latter part of last week"
"Miss Maude Burrell and gentleman friend went to Tuttle a week ago Saturday night to a dance."
February 1920 "Mrs. Davis Burrell, who had been
undergoing medical treatment in Yuma, and whose husband
is also ill here, was called to Eckley Tuesday by the
serious illness of her children."

February 1931 Kirk items "It is well worth one's time to visit the school lunch room and note hte number of school children who take advantage of the hot lunches served at noon, and the capablee manner in which Mrs. Burrell manages so many. Mrs. Burrell feeds from 30 to 44 pupils and teachers each day and has served as many as fifty lunches in a day. These hot lunches are a great benefit, especially to little tots, who eat an early breakfast and drive several miles to school."
1936 "Mrs. Jim Hensley of Mildred who has been suffering
with cancer for some time, is being cared for at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Burman Wheeler. Her only brother,
N.H. Eastin and his wife of Eckley drove down last week
to visit her and also visited their sons Bud and Glen
and a daughter, Mrs. Davis Burrell and families while here."
In 1940, W. Davis Burrell is still farming with Nancy in Yuma County. Mary A. is 18, a typist in a professor's office, and James is 15.
November 1921 "The Burrell household goods were moved to Greeley last week by G.G. Rayder. The William Zwirn family moved into the house vacated by the Burrells."
1944 "Grandma Eastin accompanied Clyde Shively of Greeley here. She had been in greeley during the cold weather, staying at the home of her daughter and family, Mrs. and Mrs. Davis Burrell."
1951 Greeley "The Burrells have spent 48 years their wedded life in Colorado,
coming here in 19.. from Decatur County, Iowa, and locating south of Wray.
They lived in Yuma county near Kirk and Joes, and moved to Greeley in September 1941.
Mr. Burrell, the son of John Burrell of near Davis City, Iowa, and his bride,
the former Jennie Eastin, aughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Eastin, were married Oct.
1901 at the home of her parents, near Pleasanton, Iowa. They have four children,
four granddaughters, a grandson, two great granddaughters and a great grandson.
The children were all present except the eldest daughter, Mrs. Maude Wheeler of
Eckley, and include Mrs. Mae Moler of Greeley. Mary Alice Mitchell of Evans
and James B. Burrell of Denver. Grandchildren at the dinner were Shirley Dodson,
Sheri Sue Mitchell and Jim Burrell. Mrs. Mitchell baked the cake and Mrs. Moler and Mrs. Jim.."
1955 "Mrs. Jennie Burrell of Greeley was visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Homer Wheeler and family and brother, R.G. Eastin and Mrs. Eastin."
(William Davis Burrell 1879-1953 and Jennie Nancy (Eastin) Burrell 1884-1960 are
buried in Evans, Colorado.

August 24, 1953 " William Davis Burrell, of 111? Eleventh St., died Sunday at
the Weld County Hospital. He had been a patient since... Mr. Burrell lived many
years in Yuma county and came to Greeley in 1940. He had been ill five years.
He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Jennie Burrell, and by four children:
James Burrell of Denver, Mrs. Mary .Mitchell of Evans, Mrs. Maude Wheeler of Eckley
and Mrs. Mae Moler of Greeley.
There are seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services at 2:10 p. m. Wednesday from Macys drawing room.
Interment Evans cemetery."
April 11, 1960 "Mrs. Jennie Nancy Burrell, 76, of 1310 6th St., Evans,
died Saturday night at Weld County Nursing home. Born Feb. 6, 1884 at Saline, Mo.,
Mrs. Burrell came to Colorado from Iowa in 1903. She lived in Yuma county until 1941
when she moved to Evans.
Surviving are the following children, Mrs. Mary Mitchell and Mrs. Mae Molcr,
both of Evans, Mrs. Homer Wheeler of Eckley and Jim Burrell of Hayward, Calif.,
eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Mabel Campbell of Leon, Iowa.,
Mrs. Josie Slutiville of Wray, Glen Eastin of Loveland, Dick of Gold,
Rollie of Eckley and Bud Eastin of Denver. Her husband, William Davis Burrell,
died Aug. 23, 1953. A daughter, Bonna Bell, also preceded Mrs. Burrell in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m., Thursday from Macy's drawing room,
with interment at Evans cemetery."

James Davis Burrell registered for WWII in Greeley, born at Yuma April 25, 1924, working for the Updyke Agency.
1957 Greeley "Mr. and Mrs. James D. Burrell and son from San Leandro, California,
are visiting at the home of his .... and visiting his sisters, Mrs. Roy Mitchell
and Mrs. Mae Moler. They expect to be here about two weeks."
In 1959 San Leandro, Jas. D. (Melba L.) is a carpet layer for L. & S. Rugg in Oakland, living at 1245 143rd Avenue.
Melba Burrell died November 10, 1995 in Newton County, Texas. She was born to Charles Gibson and Ida Jones on November 1, 1926 in Newton, texxas, name Russell in 1947, as Burrell in 1959, and as Price in 1975.
She married Loren E. Price in Marin County, California on December 6, 1973, and divorced in 1974.
Melba Lee (Gibson) Burrell 1926-1995 # 14077154 is buried in Newton,
next to sister Mary Maye (Gibson) McIlvain.

Shirley Ann Dodson was born August 20, 1934 at Yuma
to Frank E. Dodson and Mae O. Burrell, name as Koch in 1958,
Oder in 1977, and Miller in 1877.
March 29, 2004 "Shirley Ann Miller, 69, of Greeley died Thursday, March 25, at Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley.
She was born Aug. 20, 1934, in Kirk to Frank and Mae (Moler) Dodson.
She married William F. Oder in Windsor in 1953. She married William Miller in La Salle in June 1976.
She graduated from Greeley High School in 1952. She was a past member of the Rebekah’s. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, music and Bible study.
Survivors are a son, Robert Oder of Greeley; a daughter, Linda Gallegos and friend Robert Berry of Greeley; and one grandson, Theodore Louis Gallegos Jr. of Denver.
Her husbands, her parents and her uncle, Roy Mitchell, are deceased. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Evans Cemetery."
Mae Olive (Burrell) Moler born March 27, 1905, died September 8, 1992.

16, and Joan 4.

Orlena (Burrell) Wheeler, Opal Irence (Wheeler) Brown 1923-2009 and her husband
Ross James Brown. 1930-2006. Ernesting Wheeler Billington 1921-2013 is

ERNESTINE BILLINGTON, 91, of Cisne, IL passed away
Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Way Fair Nursing Home in Fairfield, IL.
Ernestine was born July 3, 1921 at Mildred, Colorado to Homer and Maude
(Burrell) Wheeler. She married Wayne Billington on March 2, 1941 at St.
Francis, Kansas, and he preceded her in death in 1996.
Ernestine was an LPN at Fairfield Memorial Hospital and for Home Health
in Eckley, CO. She helped her husband farm and enjoyed quilting,
cooking, and traveling. Ernestine was a member of Buckeye Christian
Church.
Ernestine is survived by two daughters Sherryl Jungwirth and Judy
Shannon; two sons, James Billington and Michael Billington; one sister
Joan (Norman) Knapton. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Valerie
Irwin, Veronica Judd, Stephanie Harrell, Nolan Billington, Miles
Billington, Evan Billington, and Leanne Billington Rozmajzl; thirteen
great-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, and sister, Irene Brown.
Funeral services for Ernestine Billington was held at Hosselton Funeral
Home with burial in the Buckeye Cemetery. |

married 32 years to Sarrah C. Sept 1848 Pen, both born in Pennsylvanai.
Rosa M. Feb 1887 was born in Colorado.
July 1907 "John Burrell's residence in south Wray was struck by lightning Sunday afternoon.
Some shingles on the corner of the house were torn off, which was the only damage done.
Mrs. Burrell received a slight shock. "
July 24, 1908 "
Jacob Burrell, one of our old settlers and pioneers, was taken suddenly ill last Friday and died about 4 o'clock
the same afternoon. He had been troubled some with heart disease, but this was not thought to be a particularly serious
attack. Jacob Burrell was born March 23, 1848, in Perry county, Pennsylvania, moved to Iowa in 1878, and thence
to Colorado in 1887, and Yuma county, where he has ever since resided. He was married to Sarah C. Carl Aug. 30, 1868,
who still survives him, together with four children - Mrs. Carolina Brown of Sanborn, Nebr., Margaret Webster and John Burrell of this city and Rosa Piper of Deer Creek, Illinois.
Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church by Rev. McCulloch, interment in Grandview Cemetery.
Mr. Burrell was a member of the Lutheran Church. He was known for his happy and cheerful disposition and the community experiences a distinct loss in his death.
February 1, 1912 " Loved ones, friends and old settlers, were pained last Friday by the sad
news that Mrs. Sarah Burrell, one of Yuma county's early settlers, had suddenly died in Laramer,
Iowa, that morning. She was staying at a friend's home, Mrs. Will Burd, and on Thursday morning she
got up and ate breakfast. After the dishes were washed, she complained of feeling tired,
and started to her bedroom upstairs. She got to the top when she fell,
and the occupants, hearing her stumble went to her and found her unconscious.
A doctor was called, but she never regained coriciousncss before she died at 1:00
o'clock the next morning. The doctor pronounced it ptomaine poison,
causing a great amount of gas in the stomach, poisoning her whole system.
Mrs. Burrell moved to Yuma county from Iowa in 1886 with her husband,
Jacob Burrell, and family, and they homesteaded the farm that is now owned by Jessie
Roe, six miles southeast of town, and lived in the county
until her husband died four years ago. In her long residence in Yuma county,
she made a host of friends, as she was loved by all. She was a sister to
Messrs. Amos and Cyrus Carl of this city, and mother of Mr. John Burrell
and Mrs. C. M. Webster, who are all well known by almost everyone in the county.
Beside these relatives, she leaves two other daughters, Mrs. W. A. Brown of
Sanborn, Nebr., and Mrs. Geo. Piper of Creston, Iowa. Mrs. Brown was unable to
attend the funeral on account of sickness, but Mrs. Piper came with the remains
which were brought to Wray Sunday for burial. These sorrowing ones have the
deepest sympathy of a multitude of friends.
The funeral services were held in the Methodist church of Wray, Monday,
January 29, Rev. P. W. Imboden delivered the sermon.
She was laid to rest in the Grand View cemetery.
Obituary
Sarah Katherine Carl was born in Perry county, Pennsylvania,
September 4, 1848. On August 30, 1868, she was married to Jacob Burrell,
and in 1878 they moved to Iowa. In 1887 they moved to Colorado,
where they lived until Mr. Burrells death. To this union were born three
daughters and one son, Mrs. Wm. A. Brown of Sanborn, Nebraska,
Mrs. C. M. Webster of Wray, Mrs. George Piper of Creston, Iowa,
and Mr. John Burrell of Wray.
Mrs. Burrell was converted in girlhood and
united with the Lutheran church and in August 1908,
she united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Wray.
She died in Laramer, Iowa, January 26, 1912, aged 63 years, 3 months,
and 22 days, her death being the first one in a family of ten children."
December 1909 "S. S. 'Kaul' of New Port, Pa., has been visiting relatives in Wray for the past few days. He is a cousin to Mrs. Jacob Burrell."
Jno R. Breen in 1900 Fort Collins, Colorado, a day laborer, born Sept 1860 in Illinois, widowed.
He's a brother-in-law of Edwin and Katie J. Burrell 33 and 32. Ediwn Breen born Nov 1894 in Colorado, is with them.
Katie Burrill was a daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Craig.
