In 1880 Johnson County, Nebraska, Daniel Ray is 39, born in Menard County, Illinois, Nancy J. 45 in Arkansas, with Franklin 14 Nebraska,
Alexander 12 Missouri, and William Henry 6 in Nebraska.
Nancy's mother Elizabeth Rice 76 is with them, born in Tennessee.
They're still there in 1885, D.B. 45, Nancy J. 50, Lewis 19, Alex 17, and Wm. H. 11.
Daniel Boone Ray 1841-1917 is buried in Johnson County
# 57048632, with Nancy Jane 1834-1904 # 80071252.
In 1910 Yuma County, Alexander G. Ray is farming near
Vernon, 42, born in Missouri, single.
Alex proved up a quarter in sections 33 and 34, 2S 454W in 1911.
May 6, 1910 "Alexander Ray made final commutation
proof on his homestead out southwest of Vernon last
Saturday before County Judge Jennings and
Frank Shiveley, of the same neighborhood, made a
five-year proof on his claim the day before."
Alex's witnesses were Worley A. Rock, John F. Kibel, and Lester Pearson, all of Vernon, and Cosie Blanchard of Wray.
In 1920 Vernon County, Missouri, Grant R. Ray is 51, now married to Sarah J. 49
born in Iowa. Bennie S. Shaw 11 was born in Kansas,
and Ruth M. Shaw 8 in Missouri
Alexander and Sarah are farming in Butte County,
California in 1930, and are still there in 1940.
Alex died August 28, 1940 in Stanislaus County, California, mother's name Rice.
He's buried there # 80435485.
One tree said Sarah Jane (Butler) (Shaw) Ray died Dec 4, 1960 ins Stanislaus County.
