Edward F. and Grace (Eastin) Purcell Vernon
Grace proved up two quarters in section 17, 2S 45W in 1917
On March 17, 1919, Edward F. Purcell, 35 and Grace Eastin 32 married in Wray.
April 1919 Wray "Mrs. Grace Purcell, nee Eastin, is quite ill of the flu.
Mr. and Mrs. Purcell had planned to come to Wray but owing to her illness
have been obliged to postpone their trip."
In 1920 Vernon precinct, Edward "Pursell" is a farm laborer, 37, born in Massachusetts,
Grace 33 in Missouri.
They're next to her parents, John C. 61, Hattie 54, Harvey 20, Angie 22, Clarence 18, Audry 15, and Theodore 11.
In June 1920, Edward was a witness for the land claim of Myron C. Newton for land in 15, 2S 46W, along with James L. Andrews, John C. Eastin, and Carl F. Quiggle.
Grace is buried in Vernon 1886-1927 # 79960572.
In 1930 Edward is a farm laborer in Chase County,
Nebraska, widowed, 48, lodging with Ray and Eva Ransom,
both born in Nebraska.
He said he had been first married at age 28, which would have been 1910. So it's possible his marriage to Grace was his second.
But the census didn't have his birthplace, so it's not conclusive.
IF ANYONE HAS INFORMATION ON THE DEATH OF EDWARD PURCELL, PLEASE LET US KNOW.
