MARY'S FAMILY

In 1900 Hitchcock County, Nebraska, Daniel M. Swayze is farming, born Feb 1856 in Illinois, married 18 years to Rebecca Feb 1865 Pennsylvania. Charles W. Aug 1883, Henry C. Aug 1885, Anna L. July 1887, MARY M. Feb 1889, Benjamin M. Jan 1891, Daniel W. Mar 1892, Susie B. Feb 1894, George W. Aug 1896, and Harry I. Oct 1898 were all born in Nebraska.

In 1910 Hitchcock County, Daniel is 54, Rebecca 46, Susie B. 15, George W. 13, Harry 11, and Edwin 9.

"Rebecka" Cowman is in Peoria Illinois, with husband Earl Preston Cowman living at 1115 S. Adams .

Rebecca is in Peoria, Illinois in 1920, 54, born in Pennsylvania, married to Earl Cowman 41 born in Illinois. Goldie Swayze, 15 born in Nebraska, is her daughter.

Goldie is living with them at 1115 S. Adams in 1921, no occupation.
So is Edw. Swayze, working at Peoria Cordage Company.

Rebecca was born Feb 18, 1864 in Pennsylvania, dying Feb 9, 1929 in Peoria, spouse Earl Cowman. She was to be buried in Yates City cemetery, Peoria.

"Mother" Rebecca Cowman 1863-1929 is buried in Yates City # 88598761, on the same stne as Claude K. Henry 1922-1926.
FindaGrave #89393324 says that Claude was the son of Rebecca - but she would have been 59 when he was born...
There's a Mary Henry, age 6, in Peoria County in 1930, in the Home for the Friendless, father born in Illinois, mother in Nebraska.
They must be Goldie (Swayze) Henry's kids. She's in Peoria in 1930, 25, married at 16, but no spouse, a laundry sorter, lodging with Joseph and Josephine Kimburch.

In 1940 Goldie is working at a laundry in Tazewell County, Illinois, 35, living with Mattie Thewlis 62. and three other residents.

Goldie, born October 2, 1904, died January 12, 1993.


Earl Cowman 1878-1952 is buried in Yates City, # 88598611.


In 1910 Dundy County, Nebraska, Charlie W. Swayze 26 and brother Daniel W. 18 are farming, both born in Nebraska.

Anna is married to Louis Johnson, a Norwegian in 1910 and 1920 Buffalo County, Nebraska. In 1930 Cheyenne, Wyoming, Louis is widowed, 44, a bricklaywer, with kids Harold 22 and ethel 20, both born in Nebraska.
Benjamin Swayze and Goldie Permenter had Gerald Milton Swayze on Aug 24, 1919 in Kimball, Nebraska, dying in California Dec 2, 1987.
They're in Kimball in 1920, in Adams County, Colorado in 1930, and in Sedgwick County, Colorado in 1940.

Benjamin M. Swayze 1891-1948 is buried in Wheat Ridge, Colorado # 86249478, with GOldie M. 1900-1963.

Daniel Clifford Swayze was born in Peoria on Jan 28, 1930 to Daniel W. Swayze and Margaret S. WIlson.

In 1940 Peoria, Daniel is 47, Margaret 34, Rolland 21, Robert 20, Margaretta 12, and David 10.

Daniel, born March 25, 1892, died in March 1966. Margaret, born January 11, 1901, died in Agugust 1965.


Harry Isaac Swayze, 40, born at Stratton Nebraska to Daniel Swayze and Rebecca Space, married Lorien Genevieve Neiswender on Nov 13, 1937 in Davenport, Iowa.

Harry I. Swayze 1898-1966 is buried in Loveland, Colorado # 155169896, with Lorien M. 1917-1998 # 155169974.

In 1920 Kimball, Nebraska, Susie B. Gleason is divorced, 26, with Raymond A. 1. She's a housekeeper for Arthur H. Bloom 25 and his Margaret L. 3 and newborn Bernerd L.

They are Charlie's orphans - who died in 1927.

Leonard married Barbara Louise Thomas on December 15, 1950 in Scottsbluff. Barbara died January 30, 2017 in Kimball.

Susie is widowed in 1940 Kimball, doing housewodk, 46. Raymond is 22, a ditch digger,, Harry D. 11. Her niece Frieda M. Swayze 18 a and Nephews Charles I. 20 and Leonard R. 13 are with her.

George Washington Swayze 1896-1978 is buried in Kimball # 122422935, with Gertrude 1896-1955.

Daniel H. Swayze 1856-1940 is buried in Kimball, Nebraska # 125612702,

In 1930 Peoria, Edwin Swayze is a machinist, 29, married to Mary 23 born in North Dakota, with newborn Wallace.
Edwin Wilson Swayze, born Jan 25, 1901 in Nebraska, died in Contra Costa County, California September 27, 1984, mother's maiden name Pennsy (but that could be her birthplace?)

Mary Minnie Swayze, born May 31, 1906 in North Dakota, died July 2, 1983 in Contra Costa County, mother Miller, father Theobald.

Wallace E. Swayze, 23 married Naomi L. Edwards in San Francisco on January 16, 1953.

Wallace Eldon Swayze, born July 4, 1929 in Peoria, died January 11, 2010 in Desoto, Texas, butied in DFW National 3 46904015, with Naomi 1929-2014.

FRED AND MARY

In 1910 Mary M. Swayze, age 21, born in Nebraska, is a servant for the William J. and Dora Krauter family in Washington County Colorado.

Fred Eckert, 22, married Mary Swayze May 31, 1910, recorded in Yuma County.

"Fred J. Eckart of Alliance, Nebraska and Mary Swayze of Akron, Colorado were united in marriage at the court house by County Judge Jennings, on Tuesday, May 31."


"County Judge Jennings performed the marriage of Fred Eckert and Miss Mary Swayze last Tuesday morning. These young people are from Alliance, Nebraska."

There's a Fred Eckert in a mental hospital in 1915 Council Bluffs, Iowa, age 28, married.


Mary Stewart 30, widowed, a housekeeper, and Laurine Eckert 7 are in Rock Island Illinois in 1920, living with Percy Little 39, divorced.

In 1930 Mary M. Little, 41, born in Nebraska, is in Moline, Illinois, married to Percy M. Little 49. Lorene Eckert is 17, born in Nebraska, Mary's daughter.

Mary M. Little 1889-1970 is buried in Moline # 95946365, with Percy M. Little 1881-1952.

The Fred F. Eckert dying in July 1938 in Denver is too old...


LORENE - DAUGHTER OF FRED AND MARY

Lorene Eckert, daughter of Fred Eckert and Mary Swayze, married Lowell M. Buck January 25, 1941? in Scott County, Iowa.


Lowell M. Buck and Lorene E. Eckert had Gene Marvin Buck in Moline Illinois on Feb 18, 1934, dying Feb 16, 2002.

In 1942 Lowell and Lorene are living at 4153 Aldrich Ave in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

June 4, 1992 "Services for Lorene "Little" Dougherty, 79, formerly of Moline, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today. She died Tuesday at Sherman West Nursing Home, Elgin, Illinois. Lorene Eckert married James Dougherty in 1949 in Hernando, Miss. He preceded her in death. She retired in 1972 from International Harvester Farmall Works, Rock Island, after 28 years. She was a member of Silvis Eagles.
Survivors include a son, Gene Buck, Elgin; grandchildren, Denise Soling and Shawn Buck; and a great-grandson, Matthew Soling."

"On Feb. 16 2002, Gene Buck, age 67 of Cherry Hill, New Jersey died. "Formerly of Moline Illinois.
Husband of Janice Baresel. Also survived by 2 children Shawn Buck of Elizabethtown KY and Denise Soling of Huntley IL and 5 grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to his Memorial Services Wed. 11 AM in the Chapel of the United Methodist Church of Haddonfield."
