In 1876 Wm. Ruhlandt is operating a saloon in Pittsburgh at 119 Eithteenth, living at 130 Nineteenth.
Martin arrived in New York from Liverpool on November 17, 1890, in steerage on the S.S. Alaska, age 22, a laborer,
with Gottfried Ruhland 27, a mason.
Martin applied for naturalization in 1892 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
He's a blacksmith in 1897 Pittsburgh, living at 161 S. 18th.
Henry J. Ruhlandt is a bartender in 1897, living with John W. , a saloon-keeper, on 1882 Carson.
In 1900 Martin is a silver miner in Fremont County, Colorado,
born April 1868 in Germany, immigrating in 1890, single.
Martin is a blacksmith for the
D&RG Railroad in 1906 Denver.
He's in the 1907 directory, too, rooming at 963 Lipan.
In 1910 Vernon precinct, Martin is farming, 42, born in Germany, immigrating in 1891.
Martin proved up 200 acres in section 28, 2S 45W in 1914.
" Claimant names as witnesses: John Dunlap,
Frank Bradford, John A. Dilka, and Frank Sherupp,
all of Vernon, Colorado."
Martin Doehnert, cremated, age 51, was buried in Denver on May 21, 1919.
June 12, 1919 " It has been made to appear to the
County Court of Yuma County, in the State of Colorado,
that you, the said Henry Ruhlandt, William Ruhlandt and
C. G. Ruhlandt are non-residents of the State of Colorado,
and that you are legatees or heirs of Martin Doehnert,
Deceased."
His will gave all groceries, furniture and kitchen utensels
to Mrs. Robin Stewart of Vernon.
$500 to the Germania Lodge # 14 I.O.O. F. of Denver,
80 acres of land in Yuma County which was unpatented and
he expected to prove up on and patent in October 1919,
to Henry C. Waldmann of 1348 Osage Street in Denver. This was in section 8, 3S 45W, and Martin 's heirs die prove up on it in 1920.
Henry was the brother of William Ruhlandt of Pittsburgh, give a $50 Liberty Bond. William was givien all the rest. He was a second cousin, a wood worker living on Freeland Street in Pittsburgh.
Martin's estate still owned that 200 acres in the 1920 atlas.
