with Sarah A. 54 born in Illinois. Franklin is 25, Charles C. 20, William T and David H. both 17, Ella 14, and James R. 12.
Elizabeth Cleary appeared in the 1870 Federal Census of Township 19, Menard County, Illinois, as Elizabeth Clary, in the household of her parents, Hepzibah and Absalom Clary. She is a white female, age 5. She was born in Illinois.
Hepzibah Elmore Clary died on 26 Nov 1893 in Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska, at age 63.
Absalom Clary died in 1898 in Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska.
He was buried in 1898 in Old Cemetery, located in Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska, in NW Corner, Grave 74, Row 4, Lot 4.
Frank Altig and Elizabeth Clary 1864-1906 married in 1884.

Eliza Altig Kincaid, born Aug 30, 1848 at Sandridge, Menard County, died Dec 28, 1935 in Meanrd County, to be buried in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Edward M. Altig dying May 8, 1897 at age 44, is buried in Petersburg, Illinois # 28572395.
He had married Martha Freestone, living in Des Moines Iowa in 1880 with her parents. Martha died in Desmoines in 1923.

in Petersburg, Illinois on Dec 1,
1866 to James Altig and Sarah Potter, dying March 19, 1940, buried in Emmetsburg, Iowa.
Frank proved up a quarter in section 24, 2S 45W, Yuma County, Colorado, in 1898.
Frank is farming in Yuma County in 1900, born August 1855, married sixteen years to Elizabeth July 1864,
both born in Illinois, have Harry R. Sept 1891 Colorado.
Elizabeth has had two kids, both living.
Elizabeth M. Altig, age 42, died in Sangamon County, Illinois on November 15, 1906.
November 23, 1906 "Mrs. Bell Weaver received word on
the l5th inst. that her mother, Mrs. Frank Altig,
of Petersburg, Illinois, was dead."
Francis Carter and Frank P. Altig married on March 6, 1907 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
In 1910 Menard County, Franklin P. "Allig" is 54, with Francis T. 28, and Harry R. 18.
September 1912 Vernon items "Geo. McConnell took Mr. and Mrs. Ort Weaver,
and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Altig to Wray last Saturday. Mr. Altig and wife left
for Denver, and Colorado Springs for a few days."
Franklin Pierce Altig 1855-1916 is buried in Glendale # 80203556.
November 16, 1916 "The funeral of Frank Altig, a pioneer resident of Vernon, was held
last Sunday and the remains laid to rest in the Glendale cemetery. Mr. Altig settled near Vernon
in the early days, but a few years back he moved east.
Here his first wife died and he was later
married again. Some two years ago he began to suffer with his stomach. This continued to grow
worse until death claimed him. He leaves a wife and several grown children to mourn his demise.
A number of Wray friends attended the funeral."
"Mr. and Mrs. Henry Altig came down Thursday evening from their home near Boulder to attend
the funeral of the former's brother Frank Altig, which was held Satuday at Glendale.
Mr. and Mrs. Altig were guests of Mrs. A1tig's brother A. J. Miller, and family of Wray
until their return to Boulder Sunday They will be remembered by
some of the older settlers near Vernon, having resided there about twenty years ago."

Frances F. Carter was born in Menard County, Illinois on Oct 2, 1881, to William Carter and Elizabeth Dowell.
When her mother died in 1928, she was Frances Murphy in Bakersfield, California.
Elizabeth E. Carter 1848-1928 # 9453140
"Mrs. Carter, whose maiden name was Dowell, was born in Wayne county, Kentucky, May 29, 1848. She was the daughter of William and Rebecca Dowell. While yet a little girl, she came with her parents to Illinois, and settled in Menard county where she spent the remainder of her life.
At the age of nineteen, she was united in marriage with William Carter. To this union were born ten children, three of who preceded her in death. Those living are Charles, of Athens, Illinois, Bolin, of Bloomington, Mrs. Flora Hurst of Sweetwater, Mrs. Frances Murphy of Bakersfield, Calif., William and Isom of Petersburg and Mrs. Rebecca Bradley of Tice. Mrs. Carter had made her home with Mrs. Bradley for the past six years. Mr. Carter preceded Mrs. Carter in death by about fifteen years. Besides the children, she is survived by one brother, Charles Dowell of Cabel, Ky, and one sister, Mrs. Lear Graham living in Maybank, Texas.

HARRY
Harry R. Altig, 22, married Edna May Hanna on January 14, 1914 in Yuma County.
"County Clerk McKinney issued a marriage license Monday to Harry Altig
and Edna May Hanna, both of Vernon."
April 1914 "Mr. and Mrs. Harry Altig left Vernon the last of last week
to make their home in Denver, where Mr. Altig has employment."
April 1916 "Mr. and Mrs. O. T. Weaver and Harry Altig returned last
Saturday from Illinois, whence they had been called by the illness of
Mrs. Weaver's and Altig's father. They report that their father was much
improved when they left, which we are glad to learn."
Harry Redding Altig, born Sept 27, 1891 at Vernon, is farming in Vernon when registering for WWI, with a wie and one child.

They're farming in Yuma County in 1930, Harry 37, Edna M. 36, June E. 13, Harry H. 11, and Orton T. 7.

Harry is buried in Chapel Hill Garden, Littleton, Colorado # 139105117.
"On Friday, April 20, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Altig of Vernon received word from the War Department that their son, Pvt. Orton Altig, had been killed in action on April 6. His last letter to his parents was written on April 5 from somewhere in Germany, in which he stated that he was going on guard duty that night. No other details concerning his death have yet been received.
Orton Thomas Altig was born in Denver on January 14, 1923 and was the youngest son of the Harry Altigs. The family later moved to a farm southwest of Vernon, and Orton spent his school days there, attending the Bunch Grass and Mount Hope schools. He entered the army in August and received his training at Camp Robertson, Arkansas. He left for overseas abut January 1 from Camp George E. Meade, Maryland.
Relatives surviving besides the parents are his sister, Mrs. June Andrews of Yuma; a brother Harry Altig of Mount Morrison; two nieces and a nephew; three uncles - Cpl. Howard Hanna, serving in India, Edward V. Hanna of Great Lake, Illinois, and Howard L. Hanna, serving on the police force at Englewood; two aunts - Mrs. Iva Allen of Portland, Oregon and Miss Ann Hanna of Denver; his grandfather, Edd Hanna of Denver; a cousin somewhere in Germany, besides his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. O.T. Weaver of Vernon."

Joseph is buried in Vernon 1840-1910 # 79942703.
James R. "Alteg" and Lillie Miller married in Yuma County on January 1, 1890.
James timber-claimed a quarter in section 34, 2S 44W in 1903.
One tree said James R. Altig, born March 20, 1867, died in Illinois on Dec 4, 1882.
So the claim is likely that of Robert.
In 1900 Arapahoe County, Robert J. Altig is farming, born June 1868 in Illinois, married ten years to Lillie M. Oct 1869 Iowa. Cloyd March 1891 and Ethel E. July 1894 were born in Colorado.
November 1900 Vernon items "The folks at Joe Millers are getting along fine.
Robert Altig and son had the complaint very lightly."
In 1910 Robert and Lillie are fruit farming in Boulder County, with Loyd J. 19, Ethel M. 14, and Elmer R. 9.

In 1920 Louisville, Colorado, Robert has no occuption, 51, with Lillie M. 50, both in a large nursing home run by John and Lorna Warner.
Robert E. Altig, 18 is a driver.
January 19, 1922 "Mrs. Altig, who is now located
at Yuma for the present, is visiting her brother, Arch Miller,
and family in Wray."
Robert and Lillie are alone, farming, in Boulder County in 1930.
Robert J. Altig 1868-1946 is buried in Boulder # 11100131,
with Lillie May Altig 1869-1947 # 11100133.
So is Ethel E. (Altig) Wickwire 1895-1972 # 109980452, and Burrell B. Wickwire 1888-1956.
Clarence H. Cassens was born in Nebraska
in 1880, the son of Robert and Ellenora (Altig) Cassens. He came to Colorado
with his parents and siblings in 1889. The Cassens family settled about
a mile northeast of what would become the town of Armel.
