Eldora B. (Bowans) Felzien, north of Eckley


In 1900 Bird City, Kansas, Lincoln Bowans born Aug 1860 in Iowa, with Lulu Dec 1870 Iowa, have Eldora B. August 1890, Edna L. March 1892, Arthur S. May 1893, and Clara M. July 1895, all kids born in Kansas.
Lincoln Bowans 1862-1936 is buried in Cheyenne County # 118887552, with Lulu (Cole) Bowans 1870-1931, # 119332938.

December 3, 1914 "Miss Ruth Hess and Mrs. Oshorn Probasco gave a surprise dinner Sunday at the Hess home in Eckley in honor of their parents 30 th wedding aniversary. Those present were : Mr. and Mrs. Chester McCafferty and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Chas Hess, Mr. and Mrs. Osborn Probasco and son, Myron, Mr. and Mrs. Edd Sullivan and children, Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Probasvo and family, Roy Chase, Cliff McCaffety, John Chase, Myron Probasco and Miss Bell Bowans."

February 22, 1917 Wray, Colorado "Arthur Bowans, Chas. Felzein, Evert Nelson, Belle Bowims, Rose Felzein and Miss Marjorie, of Bird City, Kansas, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Witham from Saturday until Sunday evening. The visitors are old friends of Mr. and Mrs. Witham."

Eldora proved up a quarter in 17, 2N 46W in 1918. Her witnesses (filing as Eldora B. Bowans in 1917, were Ed Sullivan, Andy Herman, Mark Catchpole, and John Cracraft, all of Eckley.


In 1920 Cheyenne County, Kansas, Eldora is 29, married to Charlie Felzien 30 born in Nebraska, wtih Kenneth L. 1 born in Kansas. They're next to Gustav J. and Minnie M. Felzien, probably Charlie's parents.
In 1930 Carl 41 and Eldora 39 have Kenneth 11, Jerrold T. 9, Betty B. 7, Neal D. 5, Dotty D. 2 and Arden D. seven months.
They still have the six kids in 1940 Cheyenne COunty.

Eldora 1890-1961 is buried in Cheyenne County # 149358799. with Charles 1889-1967.
February 23, 1961 Red Willow items, Yuma Colorado "Don Felzien's father Mr. Lawrence Felzien of St. Francis, Kansas took suddenly ill Tuesday morning of last week and passed away Wednesday morning. The funeral was held Saturday. Mrs. Maxine Chrismer and Mrs. Coleen Chance were substitute teachers during Mr. and Mrs. Felzien's absence."

April 1961 "Mr. and Mrs. Roshong of St. Francis, Kansas, parent of Mrs. Felzien, had supper Friday at the Don Felzien home and attended the fifth grade operetta at the West Grade School."
