Charles cash-claimed 160 acres in section 26, 2N 44W in 1891, the same year Beatha cash-claimed one in section 25.

There's a Charles Kurtz in 1880 Leadville, 20, born in Iowa, parents born in Germany, a miner.

POSSIBLY

Alamosa, Colorado 1884 " Charles Kurtz, an old Alamosa boy, paid our city a visit this week. Mr. Kurtz now holds a responsible position with the Railroad News Co., of Pueb1o."

Pueblo 1886 "Mr. Charles Kurtz has given np bis position in the south side postoffice, it being too confining."

February 1889 " Pueblo, Feb. 12. Charles Kurtz, for three years clerk for M. V. B. Benson, insurance agent is a defaulter, and absconded last Saturday. He has been arrested in Denver and will be brought back tonight in charge of the sheriff. He was too fond of games of chance."

January 1890 "Mr. Charles Kurtz now has 50 scholars who are taking lessons on the mandolin and guitar. Eighteen of these pupils can be called together at any time for concert practice, and the mandolin and guitar club certainly makes fine music. Mr. Kurtz has been asked to organize a club at Rocky Ford, and will probably do so in a few weeks, as he has been promised a large class and fair remuneration."

1890 Pueblo Colorado "Thirty-five members of Pueblo No. 8 and Ark lodge No. 28, I. O. O. F., will go to Rocky Ford this afternoon at 4 o'clock to assist in the installation of a lodge of Odd Fellows at that place tonight. The Pueblo people who go down will be the guests of the Odd Fellows of the watermelon town, and the Chieftain will vouch for the fact that they will be most royally entertained in every way.
Mr. Charles Kurtz will accompany the party from Pueblo and furnish the music for the degree work, which is a guarantee of good music." :

Charles Kurtz, 27, son of Gottleib Kurtz and Christina School, married Lucy A. Searles on Dec 25, 1884 in Cherokee County, Iowa.

Lucy was in Cherokee County in 1880, age 13, with D.D. Searles 59, Hannara 48, Ellen 15, Lucy 13, Mercy A. 9 and Frank M. 6.

In 1910 Snohomish County, Washington, Charles is a carpenter, 53, Lucy A 42, Glen H. 16, Willared D. 13, Lela 12, bll born in Iowa, Earl L. 9 andMelvin C. 5, and Glada D. 3 all threee born in Minnesota.

Charles, age 60, died December 27, 1917 in Everett, Washington.

There's a Bertha Kurtz, dying February 18, 1906 buried in Denverr Riverside Cemetery # 175953697.
