She might be the daughter of John Alcock 1828-1912 buried in Bremer County # 28471219 and Jane (Trenary) Alcock 1834-1907 # 28471130

" John Gowdy was born in Norton county in 1879, came to Almena and was appointed city marshall in 1916. He is a son of Edward Gowdy who is still living at Almena. John Gowdy was married in 1905 to Miss Alta Churchill, a Norton county girl, and they have three children. He is a member of the Odd Fellows. "

February 1, 1906 " John E. Gowdy and Alta B. Churchill are to be married in Almena next Sunday, February 4, 1906. Judge Kingsbury issued their license yesterday."

April 1908 "Mr. John Gowdy and wife, formerly of Norton, Kansas have come to live on their homestead north of Wray. They have obtained permission to live in the school house until they build a house on their land."

"Mr. and Mrs. John Gowdy are the parents of a fine baby boy, born June 13, 1909."

May 6, 1910 "Miss Faye Churchill came to spend tho summer here with her sister, Mrs. John Gowdy. Her home is in Almena, Kansas."

"Mr. and Mrs. John Gowdy are the parents of a fine baby boy, born June 13, 1909."

September 21, 1911 "A boy baby was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Goudy of north of Wray on Wednesday of last week."

1912 Wray " Fred Goudy, who has been visiting his brother, John Goudy of north of town, the past summer, departed for his home in Almera, Kansas, where he will attend school this coming winter."

October 1911 "Mr. and Mrs. Burt Leper of Oakley, Kansas, spent part of last week at John Gowdy's."

April 1913 Wray "Mrs. Tom Burns visited from Sunday till Monday in the John Gowdy home.
J. L. Dalrymple and family were callers Sunday afternoon at the John Gowdy home."

Notice is hereby given that John E. Gowdy, of Wray, Colorado, who, in January 1908, and May 10, 1909, made homestead entry for land in sections 11 and 14, 2N 44W, has filed notice of intention to make final three year proof, to establish claim to the land above described, before County Judge, it Wray, Colorado, on the 7th day ol October, 1912. Claimant names ad witnesses: John L. Dalrymplr, John L. Brown, Noble Smithson, and John Garten, all of Wray, Colorado.:

August 1913 "Mrs. John Goudy of north of town was in yesterday to meet her sister, Mrs. George Bowes of Republican City, Nebraska, who will visit here for some time. Mrs. Howes was accompanied by her daughter, little Miss Verona."
August 1913 "Mrs. George Bowes and daughter, Verona, of Republican City, Nebraska, arrived Wednesday for a visit at the John Gowdy home. Mesdames Bowes and Gowdy are sisters."

December 1914 Wray "John Goudy is at Almena, Kansas, on a visit to his parents."

October 1916 Wray " John Goudy, 320 acres to L. D. Mullison."

December 1914 " Mrs. Frank Graves, who had been visiting her sister, Mrs. John Goudy, of north of town and friends in Wray, departed for her home at New Raymer, Colorado, last Monday."

December 1914 "John Goudy and family leave today for Almena, Kansas, having rented their farm for the coming year. Mrs. Goudy and children wiIJ remain in Almena and Mr. Goudy Will go qd to Kansas City, where he will visit hte a few weeks and then go on to Hot Springs, Missouri, for treatment. Their many friends regret to them leave this community and hope for the speedy restoration of Mr. Gouty’s health. "
March 1916 "John Gowdy came in yesterday morning and went out to his farm five miles north which is rented by Orville Noffsingcr. Mr. and Mrs. Gowdy moved away from Wray about a year ago and are now residing in Kansas."

October 1916 Wray "John Gowdy, who formerly resided north of town, but who is now living at Almena, Kansas, was here the first of the week looking after business and visiting old friends. He left here for Moffat county on business."

In 1920 Almena, John is farming, 40 born in Kansas, with Alta 38 in Nebraska. Laurin P. 10, Cletus C. 8, and Leo E. 5 were all born in COlorado.

In 1930 Almena, John is 50, Alta 48, Laurin P. 20, and Leo E. 15.

John is buried in Almena 1879-1942 # 53503389.
