GEORGE'S FAMILY

George A. Davidson married Eliza V. Eaty on January 24, 1865 in Menard County, Illinois.

In 1870 Menard County, George A. is 59, Eliza 45, with George E. 7.

George A. "Davison" married Olive E. Sloan on June 10, 1877 in Mason County, Illinois.

In 1880 Menard County, Illinois, George Davidson is a painter, 69, wife Olive 24, Bertha 4, Emma J. and Minnie Belle both 2, all born in Illinois.

One tree said George died in 1882.

GEORGE'S SISTER BESSIE
Bessie Davidson married Charles Bartell on Feb 22, 1898 in Mason County, Illinois.
They're in Beardstown, Cass County, Illinois in 1900, Charles a day laborer born Feb 1874 in Iowa, with Bessie Sept 1882 in Illinois. Charles' married sister Mary Daughters born March 1875 in Iowa is with them.

In 1910 Mason County, Charles is 38, Bessie 28. She's had five kids, two living. Charles is 9, Bessie 5, and Lucy "Keans" 16 is with them.

January 1916 "The Wray Telephone Company has increased their central service by putting on two operators between the hours of 7 a. m. to 8 p.m.. Mrs. Bessie Bartell, lately of Sioux City, has been added to the force."

Bessie divorced Charles in Yuma County, Colorado on March 30, 1918.

GEORGE'S SISTER LUCILLE

June 1913 "Miss Lucile Davidson arrived last Wednesday from her home in Smithfield, Illinois and will spend the summer with her brother, G. H. Davidson, and family north of Wray."

In 1930 Fulton County, Charles P. Gardner is 44, Lucille M. 35, Charles V. 15, Paula V. 12, Percy V. 12, and VIrginia L.2.

In 1940 Lucille Clark is in Fulton County, 45, with S.R. Clark 51 and her daughter Virginia Gardener 12.
She's probably Lucille M. Helms Gardner Clark 1894-1959 buried in Fulton County, Illinois # 22931879.

GEORGE'S MOTHER

Ollie Sloan Davison and George W. Helms married in Mason County, Illinois on April 3, 1889.

Mrs. Oley Helms died March 29, 1904 in Beardstown, Illinois, age 49.

Bertha Davidson Heater 1876-1956 is buried in Mason County, Illinois 3 113995415.


In 1900 Red Willow County, Nebraska, "Henry G." Davidson, born Feb 1885 in Illioinos, is the adopted son of John Newberry 63 and Nancy 54, both born in Ohio. George's sister Emma J. Davidson born June 1878 in Illions is with them.


In 1900 Red Willow County, Nebraska, George Gotchall is farming, born June 1851, married 24 years to Amanda Sept 1852, both born in Ohio. Oliver Dec 1876, Albert Nov 1879, and Ada D. March 1881 were born in Illinois, Erma E. Feb 1889 and Clyde June 1891 were born in Nebaska.

July 1904 "James Davidson of Fairfax, Mo., cousin of George Davidson, is here this week visiting George."

GEORGE AND THE GOTSCHALL SISTERS

George H. Davidson, 21, born in Illinois, to George and Olive Stover, married Ada B. Gotschall, 21, daughter of William and Amanda Bell on December 6, 1904 in Red Willow County, Nebraska.

George then married Ethel Erma Gotchall in Sioux City, Iowa in 1907.

Ada Davison is living with her father William Gotchall, 57, in 1910 Red Willow County, with Ray 5 and Harold 3.
Ada B. Halsey 1881-1941 is buried in Red Willow County, # 18946405, with John T. Halsey 1880-1953.
Ray Ernest Davidson 1904-1972 is buried in Gering, Nebraska # 140946375.
Harold Leroy Davidson 1906-1981 is buried in Stockville, Frontier County, Nebraska # 18517381.

In 1910 Yuma County, George is farming, 25, born in Illinois, with Ethel 21 Nebraska, have Adelbert 1 born in Colorado.


George proved up 320 acres in sections 21 and 22, 2N 44W in 1916.

March 1917 "Mr. and Mrs. George Davidson of seven miles northwest of Wray, returned Saturday from a visit with relatives in Greeley. They had been gone several days and made the trip in their car."

October 1917 "Mr. and Mrs. George Tuttle and three children, from McCook, Nebraska, came up to Wray Friday and remained over until Sunday. While here they were the guests of Mrs. Tuttle's brother, George Davidson, and family, of north of Wray, and of Mrs. Bessie Bartell, who is a sister of Mrs. Tuttle."

October 1917 "Mr. and Mrs. George Davidson, of northwest of town, sold their 320 acre farm the latter part of last week to a party from Cheyenne, Wyoming. The purchaser is not intending to locate upon the place himself, and as Mr. and Mrs. Davidson do not give poscssion until March, they may decide to rent it during the coming season."

November 1917 "Mr. and Mrs. George Davidson, who reside north of Wray, purchased the property in Wray known as the Heiserman house, having recently disposed of their farm. H. A. Rouschling, the owner of the property, came over from his home in Flagler, Colorado, and closed the deal. He was accompanied by his wife and little son."

November 1917 "Mr. and Mrs. George Davidson and three children, who reside six miles north of Wray, are making arrangements to move to Wray the first of the coming week and will occupy the residence property in West Wray which was purchased by them last week and which is known as the Heiserman house. Mr. Davidson will make use of his car this winter by doing driving."

In 1920 George 34 and Ethel 30 are in Wray, with Delbert G. 11, Inez L. 9, and Erma P. 8.

January 1928 "The infant baby of Mr. and Mrs. George Davidson was buried Friday afternoon at the Idalia cemetery."

1947 "Mr. and Mrs. George Tuttle of Cedar Bluffs, Kansas, and Mrs. Minnie Manor of Sioux City, Iowa, visited from Saturday until Monday forenoon with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Davidson. The ladles are Henry's twin sisters."

George Henry Davidson 1885-1948 is buried in Vernon # 80086025, with Ethel Erma (Gotchall) Davidson 1889-1973 # 80085711.
December 2, 1948 "George Henry Davidson was born at Mason City, Illinois, on February 23, 1885, and departed this life at his home in Vernon on November 20, 1948, at the age of 63 years, eight months and 28 days.
When two years old he came with his parents to Danbury, Nebraska. He was married to Ethel Erma Gotchall on April 25, 1907, at Sioux City, Iowa. They later came to Colorado and homesteaded six miles northwest of Wray Their home was in and around Wray until sixteen years ago when they moved to Vernon which had since been their home.
Three children were born to the couple. They are George Delbert of Otis, Mrs. Inez Andrews of Laird and Mrs. Erma Preslar of Grants Pass, Oregon. Besides the wife and children Mr. Davidson is survived by seventeen grandchildren, one great-grandson and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Tuttle of Cedar Bluffs, Kansas, and Mrs. Minnie Manor of Sioux City."

Minnie B. Manor 1876-1957 is buried in Sioux City, Iowa # 136617468.

Also buried in Vernon are George Delbert "Dell" Davidson 1908-1982 # 80085956, with Florence EIleen (Downing) Davidson 1916-2004.

August 1946 "Mr. and Mrs. Henry Davidson were dinner guests at the E. E. Andrews home Sunday, helping Mrs. Inez Andrews celebrate her birthday."

So is Inez Lucille (Davidson) Andrews 1910-1997 # 80206446.

1922 Wray

Erma Davidson, 17, married Ernest Malena on June 4, 1929 in Wray.
"Miss Erma Davidson of Wray became the bride of Earnest Malena of Addington, Oklahoma, Tuesday, June 4th. Rev. A. M. Carpenter performed the ceremony at the Methodist Parsonage at eight o clock. Mrs. Malena is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Davidson of north of Wray. The many friends of the newly weds are extending their heartiest congratulations"

They had Erma Lee on May 10, 1929 in Wray, name Hawkins in 1947, Lett in 1951, Every in 1958, and Estabrook in 1969, dying January 21, 2006.

In 1940 Kern County, California, Ernest is 32, born in Oklahoma, married but no spouse?, with Ernest 9 and Erma Lee 7 born in Colorado, John D. 5 in Oklahoma.

Ernest Wesley Malena 1905-1955 dying in Josephine County, Oregon, is buried in Bakersfield, California # 82246187.

1949 Bakersfield " A 19-year-old youth was bound over to Superior Court Monday by Judge Stewart Magee in the Sixth Township Justice Court on three burglary counts Involving county schools. The youth, Ernest Malena, was return 1 here over the week end from Texas. He is charged with breaking into the Rosedale, Beardsley and Wasco schools early this year."

Michael Douglas Preslar was born in Orange County, California October 6, 1940, mother Davidson.
He's buried in Florida National 1940-2002 # 48964536.

Erma Malena married Ernest Hawkins on March 21, 1947 in Josephine County, Oregon.

Erma married Noel Douglas Preslar 1913-1977 in Josephine County, Oregon on May 10, 1953.
