Ben E. and Stella Turner, Wray
Ben, born October 1870 in Missouri, and Stella December 1877 are farming in 1900 Monroe County, Missouri, with Eva L. Dec 1898 born in Missouir.


In 1910 Audrain County, Missouri, Ben E. Turner is 39, married 12 years to Stella 32, Eva 11, and Clyde 9, all born in Missouri.

1911 Mexico, Missouri "Byron Reed and Ben Turner also took hogs to Centralis Thursday."

Eva L. Turner 1898-1915 is buried in Audrain County # 52118876.


November 1915 "Mrs. G. W. Earson who has spent the past two months with her daughter, Mrs. B. E. Turner, left Saturday evening for her home in Ccntralia, Missouri. Mrs. Turner is making her home in Wray in the hopes of benefiting her health."

George Washington Earsome 1852-1943 is buried in Audrain COunty # 52112782, with Mearie 1857-1923 # 52112839.

Stella May (Earsome) Turner 1877-1916 is buried in Audrain County # 52118839.

March 23, 1916 Wray "The death of Mrs. Ben Turner occurred Friday morning at their home in West Wray. Mrs. Turner was brought to Wray last fall by her husband and fourteen year old son, Clyde, in the hope that the change of climate would prove beneficial to her health, but tuberculosis was too deeply rooted, and Friday she was taken away. The husband and son left on the evening train that night for their former home near Centralia, Mo., where the body was laid to rest with that of her daughter, who had succumbed to the same dreadful disease just a few weeks before the Turners' removal to Wray. Mrs. Turner was an old friend and schoolmate of the Cottingham and Wisdom families during the years they resided in Missouri. Mr. Turner intends returning to Wray to make his home."

April 1916 "Ben Turner and son, Clyde, arrived in Wray Monday from Centralia, Mo., and expect to make their home in Wray. It will be remembered that Mr. Turner and young son took the body of the wife and mother back in Missouri a month ago for burial. They will still reside in the Joe Wisdom property in West Wray."

May 1917 "An epidemic of measles is invading Wray at this time and Clyde Turner, and the fifteen year old son of Ben Turner are victims."

In 1920 Yuma County, Ben E. is 48, widowed, with son Claud E. 18.

February 1922 "Ben Turner has rented his place and will move soon to Boulder, Colorado."

March 1922 "Ben and Clyde Turner have moved to Boulder for the present and have leased their farm to Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Pollock."


Clyde E. Turner, 24, married Mildred M. Wagner on March 15, 1925 in Yuma County.

In 1930 Yuma County, Clyde is farming 29, born in Missouri, with Mildred M. 23 born in Nebraska. They have Shirley J. w born in Colorado.

Clyde and Mildred are in Jefferson County, Colorado in 1940, where he's an oil production salesman, with Shirley J. 12 and Glenn E. 8.

Clyde E. Turner, born March 31, 1901, died November 20, 1990.

(Mildred) Turner of Denver, Mrs. Clarence (Edith) Dimmick of Tempe, Ariz., Roland Wagner of California, Hubert Wagner of Milton, Florida, Mrs. Ralph T. (Eunice) Rogers of Oklahoma City, Okla., Rosco Wagner of Denver, Mrs. Ward (Jessie) Wilson of Wray; sister of Mrs. Hazel Wight of Hartley, Neb. Also survived by two grandchildren, 30 step- grandchildren, 89 step- great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Services 9:30 a.m. Monday, Adamson Memorial Chapel. Interment 1:30 p.m., Grandview Cemetery, Wray, Colo.

Mildred Marian (Wagner) Turner born Sept 28, 1906 in Saunders County, Nebraska, died 2012 per one tree.

Shirley, born in Yuma County July 18, 1927, married John Franklin Jackson and died in Grand Lake, Colorado in 1997.

January 31, 1997 Mesa Arizona "Shirley J. Jackson, 69, a Mesa winter visitor from Grand Lake, Colo., died Jan. 29, 1997. She was born in Laird, Colo. Survivors include her husband, Frank; daughter, Donna Jeanne Ruoff; sons, Kenneth Lee and Thomas Edward; mother, Mildred Turner; brother, Glenn E. Turner; and nine grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, East Mesa Christian Church."


Donna Jeanne Ruoff, 58, of Gower, MO, left this earthly life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 26, 2010.
She was born on May 31, 1952 to John Frank and Shirley Jeanne (Turner) Jackson in Richland, WA. She grew up in Denver, CO where she attended school and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. Donna then graduated from Phillips University in Enid, OK. She received her Masters Degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO.
On July 20, 1990 she was united in marriage to David Ray Ruoff. After their marriage they lived near Gower where they farmed and made their home.
She was a member of the Central Christian Church in St. Joseph where she was active in women’s Bible studies. Donna was a former member and past president of Sweet Adelines in St. Joseph. She was also a member of MSTA, and was active in the East Buchanan FFA Alumni. Donna enjoyed quilting, scrapbooking, gardening, and interior decorating. She was an avid sports fan, devoted to the Missouri Tigers, KC Chiefs, Royals, and the EB Bulldogs. Donna loved her children and grandchildren. She treasured the time spent with them.
Donna was a teacher in the East Buchanan School District for 31 years. After retiring, she remained active in the elementary school filling various positions as needed. Donna always enjoyed History Day and Elementary Field Day.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Donna is survived by her husband, David; children, Bobbi Elliott, Derek Elliott and Katie Anderson and husband, Bradley and their father, Rev. Bob Elliott; step-daughters, Jacqui Ruoff, and Katie Nemeth and husband, Frank. She was Grammy to Hailey and Julian Nemeth; brothers, Kenneth Jackson and wife, Peggy and Col. Thomas Jackson and wife, Toby; her grandmother, Mildred Turner; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Gower Christian Church AFC Building.
Burial: Frazier Cemetery, Frazier, MO

Preceded in death by his wife Carolyn; father of Lois (Bob) Janssen and Laurence (Sharon) Turner; grandfather of 11; great-grandfather of five; brother of James Turner and Evelyn Nelson. ONE IS IN STEAMBOAT SPRINGS

In 1910 Routt County, Burl E. is farming, 30, with mary 38, and Ralph A. 7, all three born in Indiana.

1913 Steamboat Springs "B. E. Turner and son Ralph were visitors at Ed Jones on Tuesday."

July 1914 "B. E. Turner, who owns one of the best ranches in Pleasant valley, departed last Saturduy morning for his old home at Owensville, Indiana, where he will visit relatives and friends for the next three months. Mrs. Turner is there at the present time, being called home on account of the serious illness of her mother. Mr. Turner has the reputation of breaking and training the wildest horses to ride or drive and his Routt county experience may stand him in good hand in Hoosier Land. The Sentinel wishes him a safe journey."

November 1915 "Mrs. B. E. Turner, who has lived about five miles west of Columbine for years died in the Steamboat hospital after an illnees of a week. She was suffering from varicose veins."

1918 Steamboat Springs, Colorado "Burl E. Turner this week sold his ranch, near the head of Grouse creek, to S. W. Nay of Steamboat Springs, who is to be given possession at once. The deal includes Mr. Turner's stock and practically all of his personal property except his auto, which he and his family will use in making a trip to the eastern slope, where they may decide to locate."

September 1918 "B. E. Turner, who recently sold his ranch on upper Grouse creek, is now located in Denver. He and his family are residing at 4505 Federal Boulevard, north of the Highlands."


In 1920 B. E. farmed the northwest quarter of section 6, 2N 43W - about seven miles north of Wray.
Burl E. Turner, 38, is a streetcar conductor in 1920 in Denver, married to May 48, son Ralph 17, all three born in Indiana.


July 1927 "Mr. and Mrs. Burl Turner and their son Ralph and his wife are making a visit to their former home on Grouse creek. Ralph Turner is head electrician on one of the U. S. war vessels stationed at Philadelphia. Mr. and Mrs. Burl Turner are residing at the Soldiers home in Monte Vista."
