Dennis M. Patchen, 26, born in Ohio, son of Wm. Patchen and Mary Spencer, married Jennie Brown in Pawnee County, Nebraska on Septemer 9, 1890.
William and Mary had married in Lorain County, Ohio on January 8, 1843.

November 6, 1927 Battle Creek, Michigan "Mrs. Marsh, 75, died at
her home, 334 Hamilton, Saturday morning at 6:45 o'clock following weeks'
illness from influenza. Mrs. Marsh was formerly Alice M. Patchen and was
born in Lorain county, Ohio. October 10, 1852. she was married to Charles E.
Marsh in 1897
Marengo.... sister and brother. Mrs. Elliott Marwin of Marengo
and Dennis M. Patchin of Colorado. Funeral will be held from the Methodist church, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the w E jjty in charge. Burial win be to the Marengo eemetary.

Isabell, born June 13, 1858 in Ohio to Wm Patchin and
mother Spencer, died April 29, 1929 in Calhoun County, to be buried in Marengo Cemetery, She had married a Nelson before 1890, having two sons, then marrying Elliott Merwin - having a son before 1900 with him.
Dennis is a farm laborer in 1880 Calhoun County, 18, with David O. Codwise and Mary 67.
In 1885 Buffalo County, Nebraska, there's a Wm. Patchen 63, a laborer born in New York, with wife Eliza 40 born in Indiana ""broken down"

Mary Patchen is in Calhoun County, Michigan in 1900, widowed, born Febrauary 1826 in New York, with sons Ranson 54 born in Ohio, widowed and Farman June 1866 in Michigan. Her granddaughter Francis M. McKinney July 1884 in Michigan is with them.

January 1914 "Mrs. Gail Carrol, and her brother,
W. R. Horton, both of Haigler, Nebraska, were visiting
their aunt, Mrs. Harry Shriner, and family of north of
town, and also visited in the D. M. Patchen home.
They returned to Haigler Sunday."
December 6, 1917 "The death of Mrs. Mary A. Brown occured last evening at 7:00
o'clock at the home of her daughter. Mrs. D. M. Patchen, north of Wray. Mrs. Brown
was a woman of seventy years nine months and fifteen days of age and had been ill
for some time. Three months ago she was taken seriously ill and
during her last few weeks, she was taken care of by Mrs. Patchen and family.
During her residence in this county she had resided on her homestead which
joined the Patchen farm. Mrs. Brown leaves four daughters, Mrs. Viola Horton,
of Adena; Mrs. D. N. Patchen of north of town; Mrs. Sarah Shriner, of Wray;
and Mrs. Vina Woodman, of Carter, Oklahoma. She also leaves three sons, H.J.
and H. W., both of Haigler, Nebraska, and A. P. Brown of Hubbell, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday) afternoon, at the D. N. Patchen home,
. Freeman Bullard will have charge of the services and burial will be made in Grand
View Cemetery. It is expected that all of the children will be present with the
exception of Mrs. Woodman, Mrs. Horton and A. P. Brown. We extend our sympathy to
the family and friends."
In 1920 Dennis - no occupation - and Jennie are in Golden, Colorado, with Loren 8. Frank Miller 19 born in Colorado and his wife Eula 17 are with them. Frank is a pottery mold maker (perhaps the Coors family ceramics - which they did in addition to the brewery.)

MARY EULALEE
In 1930 Frank and Eula are farming in Yuma County, next to Pierce Miller 63 and Laura 53.
They have Francis 10 and Pauline 6, both born in Colorado.
Mary Eulalee Miller 1904-1994 # 65275369 is buried in Wray.
She was born August 15, 1904 at Table Rock, Nebraska, dying December 13, 1994.
Pauline Brueggeman 1924-1970 is buried in Greeley # 169033091, with Donald T. 1925-1984.
Frances Mae Miller Dorward passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 19, 2013, at the age of 93. She was born in Elizabeth, Colorado in 1920, the elder of two daughters of Eulalee (Patchen) and Frank G. Miller. She grew up on the cattle ranch her father's family had homesteaded near Wray, Colorado and attended the University of Northern Colorado, where she met her husband, Glenn Harden ("Dag") Dorward. They were married in 1942 in Denver and were together for 58 years until his death in 2000. During World War II they lived in San Antonio, Texas, where Glenn was a flight instructor.
After the war, when he joined United Airlines, the couple lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, where their daughter Sherry was born, and in Seattle, Washington, before returning to Denver in 1949, where they remained for the rest of their lives. Fran was an avid gardener and world traveler, an accomplished pianist, and a championship archer and bridge player. She was an active member of the Church of the Master, the Assistance League of Denver, and the Colorado Historical Society. Fran was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dag, and her sister Pauline Brueggman.
She is survived by her daughter Sherry of Vail, CO; cousins Marilyn of Aurora and Mary Jane of Wray; nephews Don of Ft. Lupton, Eric of Greeley, and Tom of Halifax, Nova Scotia; and niece Terre of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. Services will be held at Fairmount Mausoleum chapel, 430 S. Quebec, at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 30, with viewing during the hour before and a reception afterward.

Jacqueline Lee "Jackie" Neve 1929-1991 is buried in Wheat Ridge, Colorado # 163385710, with LeRoy 1926-2014.
Born in North Platte, Nebraska on March 30, 1926 and attended North Platte High School. As a youth, he joined the Boy Scouts and earned every merit badge that the boy scouts offered at that time and worked to attain the highest level of Eagle Scout. As a senior in high school and wanting to help with the war effort, he took the test to be a Navy fighter Pilot and was accepted. He was sent to California to begin college classes and to start flying lessons and training as a Navy Officer. In 1945, the war came to an end and suddenly the Navy no longer needed pilots and LeRoy was given an honorable discharge from the Navy. He moved back to North Platte and married his high school sweet heart Jacqueline "Jackie" Patchen; then moved to Lincoln to finish college. After College they moved to Washington State and then back to North Platte for a short time before moving to Colorado where he has made his home. LeRoy had 4 sons with his wife Jackie. LeRoy went to work for Joe Alpert's in downtown Denver in the uniform department in 1955 and worked his way to being the manager of the uniform department. In early 1980 LeRoy was offered an opportunity to purchase the uniform division of Joe Alpert's. In May of 1980 with the help of his family, he incorporated his own business known as Neve's Uniforms Inc. at I-70 and Pecos in Denver. During the time he owned the company he added 2 additional stores, one in SD and one in NM before retiring from the business and turning it over to his sons. LeRoy was an active member of the Masons, El Jebel Tanzers and the Elks, and served as the Vice President of the Board of Officers of the El Jebel Tanzers in the years 2010-2012 In later years LeRoy enjoyed dancing, dining and traveling and in particular he loved ballroom dancing. LeRoy passed away quietly with family by his side at St. Anthony's Hospital on January 10th 2014, and today, we are sure he is dancing in heaven. He was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline Lee Neve and his grandson Kenneth L. Neve. He is survived by his sister Betty Lilgegren, sons Terry Neve and wife Laura, Larry Neve and wife Angie, Michael Neve and wife Cindy and Patrick Neve. He has 6 grandchildren, Jennifer James, Kirk Neve, Justin Neve, Jacob Neve, Alexandria Neve and Taylor Neve. He also has 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. LeRoy's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his care givers and friends at St. Anthony's Hospital, Azura Skilled Nursing and to the entire staff of Atria for taking care of him for us in the last few months of his life. LeRoy will be laid to rest with his wife, Jackie, at Crown Hill Cemetery. |
