Charles and Dolly (Ingmire) Lofthouse

He might be the Charles Lofthouse in the 1881 Topcliffe, Yorkshire, England census, 5, with Christopher 68 and Isabel 42. William is 20, Rosehanna 13, Joseph 11, Jane 9, Albina 7, CHARLES 5, Fred 4, and Christoper's granddaughter Elizabeth E. newborn.
In 1891 Yorkshire, Topcliffe parish, Ripon district, Rainton village, Charles is 15, a farm servant for Christopher Rainforth 46 and Mary 43.

He might be the Charles H. Lofthouse in 1900 Spink County, South Dakota, born June 1875 in England, farming.

In 1900 Spink County, Christopher "Softhouse" is a blacksmith, born April 1866 in England, married 8 years to Jeanette January 1867 Illinois, have Fay Aug 1892, Ethel Jan 1895, Nida Oct 1896, and Christine Dec 1898. Jeanett's sister Hattie Fehlman Nov 1878 in Illinois is with them.
The 1905 school census of Spink County has Fay Lofthouse 13, Ethel 11, Nida 9, and Tina 7.
These are the children of CHRISTOPHER Lofthouse, born April 1866 in England, a blacksmith.

1907 Conde, Spink County "Mrs. Christopher Lofthouse is very sick with a complication of diseases."

Christopher is widowed in 1910 Spink County, so the Ruth J. Lofthouse buried in Conde is likely his wife. FindaGrave # 174888235.

One tree said Jeanette Ruth (Fehlman) Lofthouse died May 12, 1903 in Conde. She was the daughter of William Mathias Jerome Fehlman and Catherine Salome Hauert Fehlman 1833-1889, # 5022299, buried in Spink County.

1933 Huron, South Dakota "Mr. and Mrs. Paul Boullion took Chris Lofthouse and children to Aberdeen Sunday to visit Mrs. Lofthouse, who is recovering from a recent operation."
1936 "Mr. Lofthouse, Sr., is visiting at the home of his daughters, Mrs. Wenn of Watertown and Mrs. Will Grundpre."

Christopher died September 1, 1956 in Codington, South Dakota.

In 1920 Laird precinct, Yuma County, Charles Lofthouse 43, born in England, is farming, living alone.

On January 27, 1923, Charles Lofthouse, 45, divorced about 1920 in Alberta, Canada, married Dolly Ingmar, 21 in Wray.
(One Geni post says Charles married a "J.A. McCauley"

Dolly was in Yuma County in 1920, 18, born in Nebraska, with parents William M. Ingmire 59 born in Wisconsin, and Nancy 52 in Arkansas. Melvina 4 was born in Nebraska.
William 1867-1941 is buried in Madison County, Arkansas # 49649646, with Nancy (Bohannon) Ingmire 1868-1942 # 49649621.


March 1923 "Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Lofthouse of near Laird were Wray visitors Monday."

Charlie, 53 and Dolly 28 are farming in 1930 Yuma County. Charles said he immigrated in 1897, and was naturalized.

Charles 1875-1933 # 81588210 and Dolly F. Lofthouse 1901-1940 # 81588257 are buried in Wray.

Possibly Dolly had married Clyde L. Jackson, and they're farming in 1940 Yuma County. Clyde is 37 born in Kansas, Dolly F. 38 in Nebraska.
Clyde was in Dundy County, Nebraska in 1930, 26, living with parents Charlie L. Jackson 56 and Eva 48.

Clyde is buried in Dundy County, Nebraska 1902-1944 # 76570730.
