Yuma County Pioneer Photographs:
William Gibb
, Laird
William timber-claimed a quarter in 29, 2N 42W in 1898.
In January 1911, the Yuma County probate court ruled that Margaret S. M. Gibb appear should appear to show cause why M. M. Bulkeley should not sell the land to pay debts.
The estate of William Gibb, deceased, was filed in Yuma County in August 1911 by M.M. Bulkeley, local representative, implying the deceased's family was not in Yuma County.
ONE POSSIBLE
In 1900 Shawano County, Wisconsin, William Gibb is a lumber dealer, 30, with Margaret 29 and Margaret L. 3 all three born in Wisconsin.
ANOTHER
In 1900 Oneida County, New York, William Gibb is 27, a railroad brakeman, with Margaret 22 and Irene 3, all three born in New York.
This one might be possible - a railroad brakeman would be able to travel to pursue a claim, and there's not much in the laster census for this family.
ANOTHER
William Gibbs is farming in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa in 1910, 69, with Ella J. 68,
both born in New York. Children Lewis 39 is farming, and Eva A., a private nurse,
were both born in Illinois.
William died May 18, 1910 in Mason City, Iowa, buried there # 6964684.
Two of his daughters moved to South Dakota, a son to Washington state, another to Minnesota, the otheres staying in Iowa.
