James F. Allender, son of Presley Allender and Mary J. Cantwell, married Clara May Baust, daughter of James Baust and Josephine Fry, on September 29, 1898 in Mt. Pleasant, Henry County, Iowa.

They're in Adams County, Nebraska in 1900, James born April 1879 in Nebraska, a railroad labora, with Clara Dec 1876 Iowa. Lester A. was born May 1899 in Iowa.

In 1910 Yuma County, Frank is farming, 31, with Clara 33. Lester is 11 born in Iowa, Elsie 8 and Clifford 6 in Nebraska.

James proved up 320 acres in sections 6 and 17, 2N 42W in 1916.

In 1920 Frank is a laborer in a brewery in Hasting, Nebraska, 40, with Clara 43 and Clifford 16.

In 1930 Hastings, Frank is 50, working in a flour mill, with Clara M. 53 and his mother Mary Jane Allender 77, widowed, born in Ohio.

In 1940 Hastings, Frank is an "assistant tender" for the parks department, 60, with Clara 63. Their granddaughter Charlotte True, 18, is with them.

Clara 1876-1941 is buried in Adams County # 86599747.
"Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Allender (Clara May), 64, will be conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Brand Funeral Home. The Rev. R.A. Trowbridge will officiate. Burial will be at the Leroy cemetery. Mrs. Allender died Wednesday at her home, 936 South Denver."

James is buried in Adams County 1879-1943 # 86599915.
"County Attorney Lawrence Dunmire, coroner, stated today that the death of James Frank Allender, 64, was caused by carbon monoxide poisoning. Allender was found Friday at 12:45 p.m. in his car in a garage at 936 South Denver.
Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Harry Parsons officiating. Burial will be at Leroy.
He is survived by his wife, Anna; three children, Clifford Allender and Mrs. Earl True of Hastings and Lester Allender of Santa Ana, Calif.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

April 4, 1923 Santa Ana, California "Miss Helen Skaggs, daughter of Mrs. Susan Skaggs, and Ernest Miller of this city were quietly married this morning at the First Christian church of Santa Ana by Rev. F. T. Porter. The sister of the bride, Miss Lola Skaggs, acted as flower girl. There were no attendants other than the immediate relatives of the couple. The bride was attired in a gray taffeta suit with accessories to match. Immediately after the ceremony, in company with Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Squires of Tustin, the newlyweds left for a motor trip through the northern part of the state. San Francisco, Oakland and other cities will be visited before the return in ten days.
Those present at the ceremony this morning were: Mrs. Susan Skaggs, mother of the bride, Miss Lola Skaggs, sister of the bride, Miss Bertha Miller, sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. Lester Allender, sister of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. George Settle, of Anaheim, Mrs. E. P. Zinn and Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Squires of Tustin.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller will make their home on South Garnsey street upon their return to Santa Ana. "

Mrs. Wauneta L. Juranek-Stander, 76, of Manley, NE. died Wednesday, October 17th, 2007 peacefully at Bergan Mercy Medical Center , Omaha ,
Wauneta was born in Hastings , Nebraska on October 23, 1930, the daughter of the late William Earl and Elise V (Allender ) True .
She was a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for Mangelsen's store for 25 years a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church Manley, Eagle' Club and Volunteer for the United Way of the Midlands
Wauneta is survived by husband Gerald Stander a daughter, Virginia (John ) Ziccardi of Omaha . two sons Gerald Juranek of Belleuve ., Micheal Juranek of Omaha . Services will be Wednesday, February 17, 2010; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Monday, February 15, 2010; 5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 16, 2010; 9:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M., and Wednesday, February 17, 2010; 9:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Chester "Chet" Dale True, Sr. Memorial Fund.
Chet was born July 21, 1928 in Hastings, Nebraska to William E. & Elsie V. (Allender) True. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army from October of 1950 until October of 1952. Chet was stationed in Japan from April through December of 1951. He then served as a combat team sergeant in Fox Company 160th Regiment of the 40th Division in Korea from December of 1951 until September of 1952. After his discharge he returned to Hastings where he married Verlene M. Buss on June 13, 1953.
Chet graduated from the TV Repair program at Milford Trade School (now known as Southeast Community College) in 1956. He worked at Roger’s TV and Radio Electronics prior to spending the majority of his career at the Hastings Regional Center as an electronics technician. He retired in 1992.
Chet was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. He was active in the Central Nebraska Retrievers Club and served in various offices including president. He also marshaled and judged at numerous area field trails. He was very active in the Hastings Chapter of the Ducks Unlimited and was an avid hunter of waterfowl and upland game birds.
Chet was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Charlotte (Mae) Bierman and Wauneta Stander; and brother, Francis True.

CLifford Allender, 22, born at Pauline, Nebraska, a resident of Hastings, married Leah Hoffman on April 28, 1925 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
She was 23, born at Hastings to Jacob Hoffman and Anna Schmidt.

In 1930 Hastings, Clifford 26 and Leah 27 are living with her mother Anna Hoffman 72.

Clifford P. Allender, born July 27, 1903, died January 1, 1976.
He's buried in Parkview cemetery, Hastings.
Leah is also in Parkview, July 5, 1902- November 25, 1984 on a stone with Helen Jackson 1898-1957.

Anna Hoffman 1857-1935 is buried in Hastings # 114975617, section M. Lot 20, Row 9.
Jacob Hoffman is in the same lot 1854-1928 # 114975680.
