George W. and Pearl M. (Cox) Kopp, Happyville

In 1880 Jefferson County, Wisconsin, Jacob Kopp is a confectioner, 32, Josephine 30, Katie 6, Tillie 5, and Ferdinand 1.

In 1885 Omaha, Jacob is 37, a confectioner, Josephine 35, Catherine 12, Tilley 10, Ferdinand 6, and Lucy 4.  (Tillie Kopp Partsch died 1958, buried in Omaha, per # 73049630.  California records have Tillie Partsch born Jan 16, 1875 in Wisconsin, dying April 11, 1958 in Los Angeles County, father Kopp, mother Sneed.  In 1930 Los Angeles Gillie Partsch is 55, J. Christ 65, Lucy Kopp 49.)

In 1900 Omaha, Nebraska, Jacob Kopp born May 1848 in Germany, married 29 years to Josephine March 1850 Kentucky, have Fred Jan 1892 Illinois, Lucy Dec 1880 Wisconsin, and George Sep 1885 Nebraska.  Jacob and Fred are candy makers. On the same page is Christ Partsch,  April 1864 Denmark, married five years to Tillie April 1868 Illinois, with Julia Sep 1895 Nebraska. (In 1910 Omaha, Jacob is widowed, with daughter Lucy B. 29, Tillie Partsch 35 married for 15 years, two children still living.  Joseph 14 and Dolores 6 Kopp are son and daughter - maybe Tillie's.  Possible that either the 1910 or 1900 census is wrong about Joseph/Julia... )

In 1900 Labette County, Kansas, Theodore B. Cox born 1844 in Kentucky, has been married 25 years to Mary C. May 1855 Missouri.  They have Charles O. July 1858, Thomas F. May 1880, Susan A. June 1882, Mollie P. April 1885, and John April 1887 - Mollie was born in Nebraskey (sic) , all the others in Missouri.

George M. Kopp and Pirly M. Cox, both of Barnard, Nodaway County Missouri , were married February 2, 1909 in at Marysville, Nodaway County.

George and Pearl M. are farming in 1910 Nodaway County, saying he was born in Dakota.

In 1914 George was a witness for the land claim of Theodore Cox- another witness was John Cox.

 George proved up a quarter in 6, 1S 46W in 1916.

Pirlie Molly (Mary Pearl) Cox, April 3, 1885 - married George Kopp, died Sept.3, 1971 Colorado, and is buried in Yuma.

  Theodore and Mary Cox claimed land a mile south of George.

In 1920 Haigler, Nebraska, George is a section master for the railroad, saying he was born in Nebraska, 36, and Pearl M. 30 in Missouri.  Ralph E. 4, Clarence 2, and William seven months were born in Colorado.

In 1920 Denver, Geo. W. (Pearley M) is a carpenter, living at 3741 Humboldt.

 In 1930 George is in La Junta, Colorado, a carpenter on a railroad, 42, born in Nebraska, Pirlie M. 41 Nebraska, with Ralph E. 16, Clarence R. 14, Willie W. 12, Lorena E. 9, and George 2, all kids born in Colorado.

In 1940 La Junta George said he was born in Dakota, Pearl Mollie in Missouri.  They have only George with them.

# 41085580 says George Washington Kopp born Jan 16, 1884 in Minnesota ? died Sept 19, 1958 in Loveland, buried in Lakeside Cemetery there.

ELIZABETH

Elizabeth Loraine Cox, 88, Ryder, formerly of the Carpio and Crosby areas, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, in a Minot hospital.

Elizabeth was born Jan. 18, 1921, at La Junta, Colo., the daughter of George and Pirlie (Cox) Kopp. She was raised and educated in Colorado and was once married to Eldon McCullough.

Elizabeth was united in marriage to Edward Cox on Feb. 2, 1957. They made their home at Laird, Colo., until moving to Larson, N.D., in 1978. Edward died July 4, 1987. Elizabeth moved to Carpio, and to the Hagen Adult Foster Care Home in Ryder on Oct. 14, 2001.

As a young adult, Elizabeth worked as a model and sang for a radio station in Colorado. She also worked in various volunteer war efforts during the World War II era.

Elizabeth enjoyed gardening and doing different crafts.

Her loving family includes: daughters, Susan (Bob) Adkins, Minot, Francis (Eddie) McIntosh, La Junta, Patricia (Mike) Kelly, Rocky Ford, Colo.; son, Thomas Edward Cox, Grafton; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; including granddaughter, Emily Adkins of Minot.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; daughters, Kathryn McDonald and Edna Ann Cox; and a son, Guy McCullough.

Funeral Service: Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at 4 p.m. in Spiritual Life Christian Fellowship Church, Minot; officiated by Prophet Bill Putnam and Elder Jason Blowers of the church.

Interment: Yuma Cemetery, Yuma, Colo. # 62317641

THOMAS

Thomas Edward Cox, 52, Grafton, formerly of the Minot, Carpio and Crosby, ND areas, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, in Grafton, ND.

Thomas was born Aug. 21, 1957, at Yuma, Co., the son of Edward and Elizabeth Cox. He was raised and educated in Wray, Co. He lived in Minot, where he resided at MVAW and was a member of Second Story until moving to the Developmental Center in Grafton in 2003, where he resided at the time of his death. He worked for Marvin Windows and the Grafton Developmental Center Laundry. He never married. 

His loving family includes: Sisters, Patricia (Mike) Kelly (McCullough), Rocky Ford, CO.; Francis (Eddie) McIntosh (McCullough), La Junta, CO; and Susan (Bob) Adkins (Cox), Minot, ND.; Niece, Emily Adkins of Minot, ND.

Thomas was preceded in death by his Parents; Brother, Guy McCullough; Sister, Kathryn McDonald (McCullough) and Edna Ann Cox. 

Prayer Service: Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 1:45pm in the Grafton Development Center Chapel.
Interment: Yuma Cemetery in Yuma, Colorado.  # 62317790

Rose Triantafelo, of Canon City, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012, in Pueblo, Colorado. Rose was born on October 3, 1937 in La Junta, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elnora D Fouda and father, Clarence R. Kopp. Rose is survived by her three children, Donna R Scholpp, Donald F. Scholpp and Albert R. Potter. Rose worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse her entire life and was employed at the following facilities: St. Joseph Hospital, St. Thomas More Hospital, Hildebrand Care Center, and Valley View Health Care Center. Rose was laid to rest in Florence, Colorado alongside her long-time companions Suzy and Paws, the loves of her life. Services were held on October 26, 2012 with Bishop Mark D. Reed presiding and conducting. The Eulogy and remarks were read by Alex E. Trujillo.

In 1930 Ralph is living with his grandmother Mary C. Cox in Happyville.

In 1940 he's in Otero County, a laborer on a road project, married to Alyne C. 20, both born in Colorado.

Ralph E. Kopp  Jan. 11, 1914 ~ April 26, 2010

Ralph E. Kopp, Sr. peacefully entered into rest, April 26, 2010 at the Arkansas Valley Nursing Care Center. Ralph was born, Jan. 11, 1914 in Yuma, Colorado to George and Pearlie Kopp. He was 96 years of age. Ralph was a longtime resident of La Junta and Cheraw. The last seven years, Ralph lived at Evergreen Gardens Assisted Living in La Junta . A private grave-side service was held for family, April 29, 2010 at the Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Tom Dudley officiating. Johnson-Romero Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
