born in Ohio, with Francis A. 20 New York, William 4, and Hettie 1, both
Iowa. In 1880 Nuckolls County, Nebraska, William A. Brown is a brick mason, 49 Ohio, Francis A. 29, Pennsylvania, Hettie H. 10, Don C. 7, and Clayton P. 2, all three born in Iowa. This Don C. is the Donald Clyde Brown of Brownsville. In 1900 Clay County, Nebraska, William Brown is 69, Frances 49, Clayton 22, Laura 19, and Dollie born September 1883. Grandson Walter is 6, born in Missouri, both parents born in Iowa. William A. Brown 79 Ohio and Frances A. 59 Pennsylvania, married 44 years, are also in Yuma County in 1910, farming. Walter A., grandson, is 14. Walter registered in Yuma County, born June 21, 1894 in Jerrico, Missouri, single, employed by D.C. Brown of Happyville. Probably Donald C. Brown, claiming land in 2S 47W. Frances is widowed in 1920 De Kalb County, Missouri, living with daughter Laura Miller and her husband Edson J. She's also with them in 1930 Andrew County, Missouri. William A. Brown is buried in Liberty Creek, Nuckolls County - so is Frances A. 1851-1938 # 35468573 W.A. Brown died at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. George Jackson at Deweese, Thursday night, March 16,
1916, age 86 years. Mr. Brown was well known some years back in this
vicinity, residing in Lawrence. The deceased was quite an expert with
the pen and for a time followed the work of professional card writing
such as family records, etc. He was an old soldier in the cause of the
union. For one of this age he was unusually active and strong. There
survive the widow, two sons and three daughters. Burial services were
held Sunday morning last. Interment was made in Liberty Creek Cemetery.

| Lincoln Carlyle "Lyle" Brown Resident of Rossmoor, Walnut Creek February 12, 1924 - May 17, 2012 Lyle passed away peacefully at his home on May 17th of natural causes. Lyle was born in Atwood, KS to Clayton and Ethel Brown. He spent his youth growing up in Greeley, CO. He joined and proudly served in the US Marine Air Corps during World War II. After the war, Lyle went back to Colorado and started in the automobile sales business. He moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in the mid 1950's and continued to work in automobile sales and management. In the mid 1970's Lyle changed careers and became a top regional sales representative for several years for Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company. He retired and took up residence in Rossmoor in 1989. Lyle loved sports. He was a skilled fast-pitch softball pitcher in his early years, and he became an excellent and avid golfer even before retirement and moving to Rossmoor. His favorite professional teams were the SF Giants, Oakland A's and the SF 49ers. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jean; his son David Schindler (Diane) of Fremont; his daughter, Janet Dean (Gordon) of Discovery Bay and grandchildren, Trevor and Kyle Smith and Kevin Schindler. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kay and son, Ron. Lyle was skilled at meeting and making friends. He and Jean travelled extensively. They took 18 cruises and travelled to Europe, Australia and all over the United States. Most years, during the spring you would find them in Arizona following both the Giants and the A's training for the upcoming season. Friends and family are welcome to attend a military burial service at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon on Sunday, May 27 at 2:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at Hillside Covenant Church in Walnut Creek on Saturday, June 16 at 2:00 PM.
