In 1920 Kearney County Herschel and Nellie A. both 34, Hommer C. 1q4, Bula 10, Alice L. 8, Luciele E. 6, WSeslie E. 4, and Robert . 2.
In 1930 Denver, Nellie Wells is in Denver, married but no spouse, 44 Nebraska, Lucille 16, Mildred 6 and Donald 4.
In 1940 Denver, Nellie is 54, divorced, Mildred 16, Donald 14, with niece Ana Wells 25, born in Nebraska.
Nellie died Dec 1967, per SSDI, born Nov 1, 1885.

January 24, 1929 - Pleasant Valley items "Mr. and Mrs. William Chapman and little Betty Jean spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herschell Wells at Chappell, Nebraska, returning Monday afternoon. Mrs. Chapman is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wells."
August 8, 1929 Wesley, Mildred and Donald Wells of Denver are guests at the home of their sister Mrs. William Chapman.
August 1938 "Mr. and Mrs. William Chapman and children of south of Wray spent Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Rogers and family. They also called on Mrs. Anna Monk."
Aug 7, 1947 Eckley "Mrs. Nellie Wells of Berkley (sic) California and Mrs. Millie Hizel of Denver left for their homes last Wednesday, after a visit here with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Chapman and family. Mrs. Wells is Mrs. Chapman's mother."
April 1948 "Betty Chapman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Chapman, south of town and a former Eckley school girl was married Saturday to Eugene Glaser of Wray. It is understood the happy young couple will make their home permanently in Wray."

Dearld Lynn Chapman, 81, former Yuma resident, died Sunday evening, October 23, 2011 at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. He was born May 30, 1930 in Eckley, CO to William & Beulah (Wells) Chapman. He married Laura Forbes in Yuma on April 2, 1950. Mr. & Mrs. Chapman lived in Loveland for 36 years where they managed apartment buildings. He also worked as an auto mechanic for the majority of his life. The Chapman's moved to Brush from Yuma four years ago.
Mr. Chapman enjoyed flying his own private airplane in his younger years. He was a very friendly man that always found happiness in visiting with others when he was in assisted living.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Chapman of Brush; two daughters, Linda Gincott of Fort Morgan, and Carolyn Weimer of Wasilla, Alaska; two sisters, Betty Briggs of Loveland and Mary Hickman of Yuma; three brothers, William Chapman and Marion Chapman, both of Wray, and Keith Chapman of Vacaville, CA; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Ramona Welp and Erlene Ferguson; and his infant son, David Lynn Chapman.
