James Townsend and Lettie C. (Walton) Alloway, Steffens

In 1880 Ringgold County, Iowa  "Tawn" Alloway is 30, Rebecka 25, with James 3, Sarah 2, Thomas six months, mother  Sarah. J. 53, Ohio and brother Thomas C, 8, Iowa.

Lettie in 1880 is 2, with Benjamin and Annie Welton Macon County Missouri, with Alma 6, Effie 4, and Alva thre months.

They're in Taylor County, Iowa in 1885, Thomas 32, R.J. 30, J.T. 8, Sadie E. 2, Thomas W. 5, Ernest 4, and son B.C. 1

James T. Alloway and Lettie Welton married in Taylor County December 22, 1897.

Golda A. Alloway was born Oct 14, 1898 in Blatteville (Probably Platteville), Taylor County, Iowa to J.T. Alloway and Lettie C. Walton.

In 1900 Taylor County, Iowa, J. T. Alloway, Mar 1877 in Iowa has been married two years to L. K. Mar 1878, Illinois.  Golda A. was born October 1898 in Iowa.

 Benjamin Perry Welton, a resident of Taylor county for the past five years, died Thursday morning, July 20 at the home of his daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar O. Murray in Conway, at the age of 93. He had been in poor health for some time.

He was born May 1, 1851 at Peoria, Ill., and spent his early boyhood days there before coming to Iowa. He joined the Baptist church at Maloy, when a young man.

He was married to Anna Eliza Parrish at Peoria, Ill., in 1872 [1873]. To them nine children were born. His wife and three children preceded him in death.

He is survived by four daughters and two sons: Mrs. Edgar Murray and Mrs. Bertha Scroggie of Conway, Mrs. Amy Page of Aricka ree, Colo., Mrs. Lettie Alloway of Hebron, Nebr., Allie Welton of Kansas City, Mo., and Pearl Welton of Keenesburg, Colorado.

There are also 25 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

The funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Conway at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C. M. Rowe, pastor of the Methodist church at Clearfield. Burial was in the Platteville cemetery.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral services for B. P. Welton here Saturday were Ammie Page of Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Welton, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Clapper and Barbara of Kansas City; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Page and children, Corning, Mrs. James Alloway of went to Excelsior Springs Sunday Hebron, Nebr.

In 1910 Thayer County, Nebraska James is 30, Elo . 28, with Goldie 11, and both fathers - B.P. Welton and Townsend Alloway, both 58, widowed.

James proved up two quarters in 29, 1S 48W in 1920.  The BLM records have AllowaN, both on-line and on the certificate.

Goldie is married to William Nuding in 1920 Yuma County, with Lucille Goldie 5 (born in Nebraska) , Henry 3, and Benjamin 1.

In 1926, 1928, and 1930 Independence Missouri they're in the city directories.

In 1930 Vernon County Missouri, James T. Alloway, born in Iowa,  Atta K. Illinois, both 51.

Goldie and William O. Nuding are in Thayer County Nebraska in 1930, with Lucille, Obit, Benjamin, Edward 10, Virgina 8, and Horley 3.

They're still in Thayer County in 1940, with Edward 20, Harley 13, LeRoy 9, Virgie 17, and Anna Bolle Lee Nuding 5.

James died in 1970, and is buried in Rose Hill, Thayer County.

So are Goldie Anna Nuding 110592478 1896-1967 and William Nuding

William Obit Nuding, son of John Henry and Elizabeth Barbara Wagner Nuding was born in Dundy County, Nebraska August 2, 1890. He was baptized in the Methodist Church.

Mr. Nuding grew to manhood in Dundy County, and here he was united in marriage to Goldie Anna Alloway on December 8, 1913. To this union nine children were born, three daughters and six sons, all of which are living.

In the earlier part of his married life he homesteaded in Yuma County, Colo. From there he moved to Independence, Mo. Two years later he moved to Thayer County, Nebraska, where he has farmed for the past 28 years.

He passed away at his home near Gilead, Nebraska, December 6, 1951, at the age of 61 years four month (sic) and four days.

He leaves to mourn his passing away his wife, Goldie A. Nuding; and his nine children: Mrs. Lucille (A.L.) Heidbrecht, Chadron, Nebr.; Obit, Hebron, Nebr.; Benjamin, Stockton, Calif.; Edward of Hebron, Nebr.; Mrs. Virgie (H.J.) Frades of Reynolds, Nebr.; Hanley and LeRoy of Fairfield, Nebr.; and Annabelle and John at home. Eighteen grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter;
six sisters and many other relatives and friends.
 

There was a Charles Allowan / ALLOWAY in Smith County Kansas in 1910, single, boarding with a Cline family, 32, born in Kansas, father in Iowa, mother in North Carolina.
