Yuma County Pioneer Photographs:

William J. York, sons William H. York, John W. York, Vernon

In 1880 Osborne County Kansas, William York 46 and Sarah 40 have John W. 17, Hudson 16, Amanda 13, and William 9.

William proved up a quarter in 26, 1S 45W in 1897 - same time as Shadduck and Foreman.  and it's very likely his father is the William J. York timber-claiming a quarter in 10, 2S 45W in 1898 - it would be about six miles away.

John cash-claimed a quarter in 20, 1S 44W in 1890 - so they arrived about the same time, and the claims were just a couple of miles apart.

In 1900 William J. York Dec 1833 Ohio, and Sarah H Nov 1839 Ohio are in Glendale precinct.

William J. and Sarah - THANK YOU JAY YORK

They're in Osborne County Kansas in 1910, ages 76 and 70.

William 1833-1920 and Sarah 1839-1915 are buried in Grant Center, Osborne County, Kansas.

John married Nora Kate Foreman -

In 1900 Glendale precinct Nora K. York, born Apr 1872 in Illinois, is widowed.  Pearl August 1893 and Lee Oct 1898 both born in Colorado.

She's following her parents Jacob and Sarah E. Foreman on that 1900 census.

Looks like she married widower Beatty, and died in Oregon.

There's a William H. York buried in Sunset Lawn, Sacramento, California 1870-1960 Aug 5, 1870 in Indiana per California records. - on the same stone as Anna Belle 1877-1973- born Missouri, per California records.

Probably the William H. and Annabel in San Joaquin in 1940 - next household is Gordon W. York, 26, born in Idaho.

They were in Tulare County in 1930 with son Gordon 16, and son Loy E. 23 married to Beulah 23.

In 1920 they were in Nez Perce County, Idaho, William 48, Annabelle 42, Loy 13, Clarence 11, and Gordon 5.

Loy Edward York was born Dec 18, 1906 in Idaho County, Idaho - father William Henry York, mother Anna Bell Grant.
