with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Crandell. Their brother Staff Sergeant
Orville Crandell who had spent his furlough in Wray returned Monday night to
Roswell, New Mexico."

"Mr. and Mrs. Joe Crandell drove, to Denver Sunday morning to visit their
daughters, Mrs. Opal Burrows and Miss Pearl Crandell. Mr. Crandell returned
that evening and Mrs. Crandell remained to spend the week."
Word received from Joe Crandell of Oakland, Calif., tells of the death of
Mrs. Crandell on December 3, 1953 in Oakland where they have made their home
since leaving Wray several years ago. Services were held last Thursday
morning at eleven o’clock at the Elmhurst Chapel of the Clarence N. Cooper
mortuary and burial was in Evergreen cemetery. Mrs. Crandell is survived by
her husband and five children, Velma Hodge, Pearl Schlicher, Opal Burrows,
Orville and Everett Crandell. There are also six grandchildren, Carol
Crandell, Dennis Burrows, Joe and Bobby Hodge, Chris and Gary Crandell.

WILLIAM
"Wm. Lee Crandell, former Wray man and brother of Joe Crandell of this city,
died November 22, 1935 at Los Angeles, Calif. He was born Sept. 1, 1901 at
Nelson, Neb. He came to Yuma county in 1910 and lived south of Eckley on a
homestead for a number of years. Later he moved to Wray and worked for the
Conrad Motor Company for some time after which he operated a lunch wagon on
the Pyle lot on Main street. Mr. Crandell left here in 1928 and had resided
in California since that time. He had never married. He is survived by
several brothers and a sister. Sincere sympathy is extended Joe and the
other relatives in their bereavement."
