"According to his obit he was born in Wray, Colorado and died 16 Mar 1955 in Las Vegas at the home of his daughter Mrs. Katherine Prichard.He was 61 and resided most of his life in Virginia City, he was a mining man.Survived by his widow, Mrs. Chloe Richards, another daughter, Mrs. Patricia Sly of Virginia City; two sons, Edwin F. Richards of Las Vegas and A.N. Richards of Elko, nine grandchildren"

Harold B. Richards, 32, married Eathel Mecham in Salt Lake County October 30, 1917.
In 1930 Harold and Eathel are with her mother Loraine Mecham 82, and Amy Mecham 37. Eathel is 45, Harold 40, Anna M. 11, Jean 8 and Genene 8 and Thomas three moths wer all born in Utah.
In 1940 Virginia City, Nevada, Harld is 49, Esthel 51, Jean and Genevieve both 18, Thomas R. 11. Earl Steward 26 and Anna May 21 have Mary Jean, 1.

Harold Blaine Richards # 92029224, is buried in Fallon Nevada, 1892-1973, with Eathel (Mecham) Richards 1888-1960.

MINING TOWN MEMORIES COLORADO AND MEXICO
An Interview Conducted by Mel Erskine
Mrs. Richards lives by herself in a small apartment in Berkeley, California.
Mrs. Richards is a very interesting talker who has observed acutely throughout a busy, active life. She was raised in a small Colorado mining town during its boom and subsequent bust in the Silver Panic of the 1890 s. As the daughter of a widowed hotel keeper she saw, perhaps, more different aspects of life in the mining towns than other people.
She married, in 1904, a mining engineer and raised her family in the mining towns of the western United States and Mexico. The Richards arrived in Mexico before the revolution and returned at times during the "continuing revolution." Mrs. Richards comments on this period are a good description of a way of life no longer possible.

Edwin registered for WWI in Midvale, Utah, manager of a leasing company, wife Bessie Belle, of Salt Lake City.

1931 "Edwin R. Richards, of Monterrey, N. L., Mexico, open-hearth superintendent for Cia. Fundidora de Fierro y Acero de Monterrey, S. A., is a candidate for membership in the American Institute of Mining & Metallurgical Engineers."

Edwin Ruthven Richards, born Oct 24, 1879 in Michigan, died April 20, 1947 in Alameda County, California.

Possible 1957 "FALLON, Nev: (UP)— Joint funeral services for Glade McCarthy, 46, and his 35-year-old wife, Amy, who perished Friday when fire leveled their nome near Here, will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. McCarthy died' when he rushed back into the flaming house in' an effort to rescue his wife who apparently had become confused and was unable to find the door leading outside. Two of the McCarthys three children, 12-year-old Richard, and Sam, 8, awakened their parents and then dashed out of the house. Later-, the two re-entered the flaming building after their father had gone back for Mrs. McCarthy but were forced to leave after they found both parents unconscious oa the floor A daughter, Patricia McCarthy, 16. had spent the night with a friend in Fallon. McCarthy is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J\ T. McCarthy of Provo, Utah, and the three children. "
