William H. Nienaber, 1South 43West


In 1870 Henry Nienaber is 50, Mary 40, with Eva 12, Elisabeth 10, Louisa 7, Julia 3, Andrew 5, Mary newborn and "HENRY" 17, born in Illinois.
Wm. Henry Nienaber married Ernestine Wolf December 26, 1878 in Buraeu County, Illinois.
In 1880 Bureau County, Illinois, "Henry" Nienaber is 27, married to Tina , 22 born in Germany. Louis Dastoff 15 is a laborer born in Illinois.
They had Clara F. in 1881, and that she's married to John Prefky in 1900 Martin County, Minnesota., born January 1881.
Tena Wolf - wife of W.H. Nienaber 1858-1881 is buried in Bureau County, 149643233.

In 1885 William Nienaber cash-claimed 120 acres in 1S 5E ( eastern Kansas),

W.H. Nienaber age 36 married Anna M. Taylor, age 19 April 15, 1890, performed by Justice of the Peace J.D. McKee of Wray, recorded in Yuma County.
She's the daughter of Samuel and Martha (Metsker) Taylor. They were in Leavenworth County, Kansas in 1880. Samuel 44, Martha 36, Albert 13, MARY A. 9, Clara E. 6, and Sarah E. 1.
"OBITUARY THE ONAGA HERALD 27 NOV 1914 Samuel Taylor was born in Dover, Delaware, April 17, 1836, and died at his home in Onaga, Kansas on November 20, 1914, at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 3 days. At two years of age his parents moved to Ohio, where his mother died. When eight years old he moved to Indiana, where he grew to manhood. He was mustered into the army as Sargeant in Co. I, 72nd Indiana Regiment Volunteers, on July 24, 1862, and was mustered out July 24, 1865, have served three years and receiving but one slight wound.

On October 22, 1865, he was united in marriage to Martha J. Metsker, who survives to mourn his death. To this union were born seven children, two of whom died in infancy. The surviving children are Albert E. Taylor, of Toledo, Ohio; Anna M. Nienabor, of Wray, Colo.; Clara E. Godlove, and Libbie Hayward of Onaga and John R. Taylor, of Pine Village, Ind.

His eldest son, Allie. spent two weeks at his father's bedside, being obliged to return home one week before his death. The other four were with him when he passed away. Besides the family there remains two brothers, Robert H. of Long Beach, Calif;; and John C., of LaFayette, Ind., and one sister, Mrs. Mary Thomas of Pine Village, Ind. One sister, Mrs. Eliza Thomas passed away and was buried in Onaga, May 16, 1897. There are many other relatives and friends who will mourn his loss, for he was a devoted husband, a kind father and a good friend and neighbor."
Interment was made in the Onaga cemetery.


(John E. Prafke married Clara Nienaber January 1, 1900 in Bureau County.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church record - this entry in German - married at Fairmount, Minnesota.
Elta Loretta Fern Prafke was born Sept 17, 1905 in Martin County, Minnesota to father Prafke, mother Nienabor.
Clara "Prafke" June 25, 1881-March 22, 1918 is buried in Athol, Kootenai County, Idaho, # 13628706, with John 1876-1945 # 13729812.)
Idaho death index has her father as "Neanighbor", mother Clara.
The death certificate says she was born June 15, 1882 in Illinois.

Their daughter Freda's death record said in 1922 that her father was John "Frafke", mother Clara Neighbor.

William H. Nienaber proved up a quarter in 3, 1S 43W in 1893.

In 1900 Glendale precinct, William born May 1853 in Illinois, has been married ten years to Anna M. March 1872 Indiana. She hasn't had any kids.
In 1903 "Henry Nienabor" was a witness for the land claim of the estate of John J. Haws, very near the Nienaber claim.

In 1910 Yuma County, on the "St. Francis Road", William "Newnsbon" is 56, Anna M. 39, farming, with no children.
In 1920 Wray, on South Elk Street, William 66 and Anna M. have no occupations. He still owned the quarter - listed as "W.H. Neinabor", and John Peters was living on it.
He also owned another 1609 acres in sections 11 and 14.

In 1930 Wray, Annie is living as a servant to the Wesley and Rose S. Bauer family.
