Joseph Howard Klugh , Wray


Joseph R. Klugh married Fannie Breckbill in Pennsylvania in 1861. He was born about 1836.

In 1870 Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, Joseph Klugh is farming , 34, with Fanny 33. They have Mary C., 8, Hoseph H. 6, John A. 5, and George, 52 and laborere.
"Joseph" is still in Pennsylvania in 1880, a farm laborer.
Howard Klugh married Viola Shumaker October 27, 1889, recorded in Yuma County.

Joseph proved up a quarter in 7, 1S 43W in 1893. This must be the same person (In 1900 John R. Klugh born July 1836 is in Orleans, Nebraska, with Fannie born Sept 1837. Next household is J. Oliver Hoffman, physician, born Aug 1854 in Pennsylvania, with Kate July 1859 Pennsylvania.)
Joseph R. Klugh 1836-1907 and Fannie B. Klugh 1837-1900 are buried in Orleans # 76486034.

Howard cash-claimed a quarter in 5, 1S 44W - five miles away - in 1890.
In 1900 Wray, Howard, born April 1870 in Pennsylvania, is married one year to Ola April 1866 Illinois. She's had one child, none living.
Sister-in-law Flow Hendrie, Feb 1870 Illinois, widowed, is with them. She' not had any children.

Howard married a Shumaker girl.

1904 " Howard Klugh, another of the hustling, energetic pioneers of Wray, has commenced the work of erecting a fine brick business building on Chief street. It will have a frontage of 25 feet, sixty-two feet long, and will be furnished elegantly. Mr. Klugh made his money in Wray and the enterprising gentleman displays the utmost faith in the future of the city."

1905 J.B. Campbell, W.D. McGinnis, and Howard Klugh of Wray purchased an interest in the Bank of Yuma "who together with J.W. Sheedy and H.C. Hoch of Yuma will hereafter have charge of that institution."
1907 "Mr and Mrs. Howard Klugh are spending the week at Orleans, Nebraska, the guests of Mr. Klugh's father and sister, J.R. Klugh and Mrs. J.O. Hoffman."

1908 Wray


1909 "The Howard Klughs have changed their Denver address from 1960 Logan Ave. to 1755 Grant St."
In 1910 Denver, Howard is in a boarding house, saying he's married but no spouse, "own income."
In 1920 Denver, Howard is a soda dispenser in a drug store, and Viola works at a barrel factory.
Sister-in-law Florrie S. Elwell, 49, widowed, born in Illinois, is with them, a typist.

Joseph Howard Klugh 1865-1929 is buried in Denver # 140074596, with Viola (Shumaker) KLugh 1866-1951 # 122879363.
