Possibly the John "Jay" farming in Harrison County Iowa in 1880, 27, born in Ohio, married to Candus 20, with Rosa 1/
He was the son of John and Nancy (Cline) Joy - one sister Nancy, 1847-1905 married Calvin Mosher in 1867, then James Bailen about 1889 - and she died in Boulder 1905.

John cash-claimed a tract in 24, 1S 43W in 1889, "on the north fork of the Dry Willow".

In 1900 Jamestown, Colorado, Boulder County, John W. Joy is a teamster, married 21 years to Candis A. Iowa, with Emma May 1884 Nebraska, Francis Oct 1887 COlorado, John April 1895 COlorado and Nettie Sept 1898 Colorado.
In 1902 John W. Joy proved up a quarter in 2N 72W, Boulder County.

John Washington Joy 1852-1922 is buried in Longmont # 30293741 "At his home in Longmont, Friday, March 17, 1922 John W Joy age 69 years and seven months. He leaves a wife and seven children. Mrs. Rose Imel Of Boulder, Mrs. Emma Wright of Rand, Colorado, Mrs Nattie Wright Caldwell Idaho, Miss Jessie Joy of Longmont, Frank and John Joy of Longmont, And Tom Joy of Sundance, Wyoming. "
