In 1881 Shefford, Quebec, Canada, James Johnston is 60, born in Ireland, Margrit 49 Quebec, Francis 24, Avery 21, and Mary 15 were born in Quebec.
1899 Wray "Uriah Morton bought the James Johnston place in Arapahoe County." (Glendale Vernon were in Arapahoe County at the time)
In 1900 Yuma County, James born June 1820 in Ireland, and Margaret born Sept 1831 in Canada, immigrating in 1888, have had four children.
1902 "James Johnson lost a cow and now has only one left. He is needy, and it would be a charitable deed to donate a small sum toward purchasing him another cow. If you wish to give anything, you can leave your donation at this office or at the Vernon post office."

Margaret (Perry) Johnson, 1831-1903 is buried in Vernon Colorado.
"Margret Perry, wife of James Johnson, was born September 28, 1831 in Canada and died at the home of her son, F. P. Johnson, near Vernon, Colorado February 11, 1903, age 71 years 4 months and 14 days. She was married on August 27, 1851 to James Johnson.
To this union four children were born. She with the family moved from their home in Canada to their home near Vernon, Colorado in the fall of 1888. She was sick but two weeks when death came. It came as a surprise to those who watched by her bedside. About the time of her death she gave a new testimony of her faith in the Savior. Funeral services were held on Saturday the 14 inst. in the Presbyterian Church at Glendale Cemetery.

In 1908 Long Beach, Elizabeth and Miss Florence Whyte both live at 615 Cherry avenue.

August 1909 Long Beach "Mrs. Elizabeth Whyte, 615 Cherry avenue, announces the marriage of her daughter. Miss Mildred F. Whyte, to Harry Wise. The marriage was solemnized Wednesday in New York city. The groom is a member of a New York law firm. Miss Whyte had many friends here. "
In 1910 Los Angeles, Elizabeth Whyte is 57, James 19 New York is a mechanic building ships, Florence 25 Delaware works at the city library, Isabell 15 New York.
In 1920 Elizabeth S. is 65, living with daughter Florence - 31, a college teacher - in Yamhll County, Oregon.
Elizabeth Whyte is living alone in 1930 Los Angeles, widowed, no occupation, born about 1853.
Elizabeth, born Feb 4, 1853 in Canada, died Oct 15, 1941 in Los Angeles County.

Florence Whyte, born about 1885 in Delaware, daughter of John Whyte of Scotland and Elizabeth Johnston of Canada, was killed in a car-truck collission February 27, 1943 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. She was a professor of languages at Harcum Junior College. Buried Riverside Cemetery, Norristown, Pennsylvania.
James Syme Whyte, born Dec 20, 1890 in New York registered for WWII in Inglewood, California, worked at the Los Angeles Flower Market, father-in-law Charles Turner, postmaster at Oceanside, California.

On the same page in 1900 as his parents is Frank P. Johnston born April 1855 Canada, married six years to Mary E. Sept 1872 Nebraska. They have Frank J april 1896, Henry October 1897, and Maggie J. Oct 1898, all three in Colorado.

One tree said that Andrew Whyte, born 1829 in Scotland, married Isabel Syme 1852.
They had Janet Whyte October 11, 1856 in Beath, Fife, Scotland.
In 1880 Idaho Springs, Colorado, Frank Johnson 25, and brother Avery Johnson 20, both born in Canada, are with sister Elizabeth Whyte 27 and her husband John 27, born in Scotland. Frank works in a mill- probably processing ore, and Avery is a miner.
(Elizabeth moved to California, and died in 1949 - death index has her maiden name as Johnstone)
Andrew Whyte, 19, brother, born in Canada, is also with them. One tree said he married Laura A. Wright in 1882 and died Dec 12, 1892 in Colorado.
Laura Whyte married Gilbert W. Lamb January 6, 1897, recorded in Denver.

In 1900 Clear Creek County, Colorado, Laura A. Lamb, born March 1869 in Iowa, is married three years to Gilbert Lamb, April 1856 New York. James W. Whyte, born March 1890, is with them. So are Edith, born May 1887 and Blanche Feb 1889, all three born in Colorado.

1906 Wray "The Misses Whyte, daughters of Mrs. G.W. Lamb, who resides south of town, came down from Idaho Springs last Friday and will make their home here. The ladies did not come down with the family last spring on account of wishing to finish thier(sic) school year there."

Laura Ann Lamb, 1869-1954 is buried in Wray # 64644932, as is Gilbert Lamb 1856-1943 # 64644913.
James Walter White registered for WWI in Cowley, Wyoming, born March 16, 1891 at Wray, Colorado, farming for Lebbe & Taggart, single.
He married Mary C. Evans December 14, 1919, recorded in Denver.

In 1920 Wray, James W., 28 and Mary C. 28, born in Missouri, are living with Gilbert and Laura Lamb, farming.

In 1925 James - a salesman - and Mary are in Goodland, Kansas, with Ruby Blanch Whyte, three months.
In 1930 Denver, James is a farmer, - father born in Nova Scotia - and they have added James W. 1, born in Colorado.
In 1940 Clear Creek County, James is a sorter in an ore mill. Mary C. is 50, Ruby B. 15, and James W. Jr. 11.
James Walter Whyte 1891-1957 is buried in Fort Logan # 3377493, "wagoner 10 SN TN, 10th Division, WWI", with Mary Catherine Whyte 1889-1977.

Andrew Whyte took the oath of naturalization July 5, 1882 in Clear Creek County.
Andrew Whyte married Laura A. Wright Nov 23, 1885, recorded in Denver.

Andrew Whyte proved up a quarter in 18, 1S 43W in 1892, and Gilbert W. Lamb in section 19 in 1892,. These werer next to Avery and Francis Johnston's claims.

In 1916 Laura A. Lamb applied for settlement of a mining claim in Clear Creek County, and a quarter in Yuma County. Heirs were Laura A. Lamb, Edith Whyte Glasser, Blanche Whyte, and James Walter Whyte, son.
In 1920 Laura Lamb owned one quarter in section 18, and G.W. one in section 19.
John Whyte Sr. owned three quarters in sections 8 and 9, and J.C. Whyte was living on one quarter.

Francis P. Johnston proved up a quarter in 17 in 1892.
1904 "Frank Johnston's hand is much improved this week and consequently Frank has another colt to break. Frank takes to horses as readily as a fish to water."
1914 "Frank Johnson and family spent Sunday at Gilbert Lamb's."

In 1914 the Yuma County Commissioners paid $153 to the Denver City CHospital for care of Frank Johnston.
1917 "Avery Johnston is working for Roy Rockwell near Happyville" - this would be Frank's son.
In 1917 Frank P. Johnston advertised that his sons Henry J. Johnston 19 and Avery C. Johnston 16, were allowed to make contracts for themselves.

Avery Johnston's naturalization was finalized in Clear Creek County June 22, 1887, and Francis P. Johnston December 16, 1885.
Avery K. Johnston proved up a quarter in 18 in 1892.

In 1919 for the settlement of lands in 18, 1S 43W of Avery K. Johnston, deceased, heirs were Eva J. Page, Walter A. Johnston, Harry Johnston and Frank A. Johnston.
The Frank P. JOHNSON # 79969834 buried in Vernon is probably Frances - spouse Mary E. )Blandford)_ Johnson dying 1916.

Blanche (Whyte) Sargent 1889-1971 is buried in Wray, # 63202310.

Altoona, Pennsylvania July 1946 "Mrs. Euphema Spinney. 614 West Third street, Williamsburg, died in the Altoona hospital Saturday night at 7:30 o'clock. She fractured a hip in a fall in her living room July 2 and was hospitalized in Altoona hospital until she died. She was born in Quebec, Canada, March 27, 1859, daughter of Andrew and Isabell a (Syme) Whyte. She was married in Scotland to Walter W. Spinney, deceased. He died Nov. 19, 1934. Mrs. Spinney is survived by one sister, Emma Thomson, South Bermuda, Nova Scotia, Canada; one brother, James Whyte, Vancouver, British Columbia; one adopted daughter. Miss Blanche Whyte of Brooklyn, N. Y.; five nephews and one niece. Friends may call at the Friedline funeral home in Williamsburg until the funeral Tuesday afternoon. In 1861 Euphemie was two, in Leeds, Megantic, Quebec.

Alexander Whyte, born 1870 in Canada, died Jan 22, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY, a chemist, buried in Evergreen's cemetery, a chemist.

James Whyte was born Sept 3, 1854 in Fife, Scotland to Andrew Whyte and Isabella Syme.

John Whyte was born July 14, 1852 in Fief to Andrew and Isabella.
