John W. Haws and Elizabeth Roberts had Laben Leander Haws July 16, 1857 in Lawrence County, Kentucky.
In 1860 Lawrence County, Kentucky, J.W. Haws 40 is farming with Elizabeth 31, A.W. 13, J.J.C. 12, T. J. H. 10 - three sons - Juley A. 7, Wm A. 5, Laban L. 3.
William Plummer married Julia A. Haws January 30, 1870 in Johnson County.

In 1870 Johnson County, Kansas, John and Elizabeth are both 48, John 21, Ashburn 15, Laver 13, Georgiana 10, Luella 7, and Mary 3.
Laban L. Haws was farming alone in 1880 Johnson County, and in 1881 married Nettie Plummer, age 19. He was 24.
1886 Johnson County " Laban Haws will start for Colorado in a few days."
In 1886 Thomas County, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. John Haws gave a bed spread as a wedding present to Jessie A. Nicholas of Gage County, Nebraska and Frank Buss of Colby Kansas.

In 1900 Glendale precinct, John J. Haws is single, farming, born August 1848 in Kentucky.

In 1903 "Henry Nienabor" was a witness for the land claim in section 11, 1S 43W of the estate of John J. Haws, very near the Nienaber claim.
Rufus F. Roberts was the administrator of the estate of John Haws, deceased in 1905 Yuma County.
Rufus filed for the land claim in 1903, witnesses Clark N. Moore, Henry Nienabor, Cuney Loman, and Joseph Weller.

If anyone has information on John - where was he in 1880? And for that matter, what happened to his family after 1870 Johnson County?
