In 1850 Muskingum County, Ohio, Rebecca Emenhiser is 36, born in Ohio, with Adam 14, Sarah 8, and "Amaziah" 4, all born in Ohio. On the same page is Adam Emenhiser 69 and Catherine 65
One tree said that his father John had died in 1849 in Muskingum County, age 36. Siblings were Adam born 1836, Mary L. 1838, Joseph 1840, and Sarah M. 1842.
In 1860 Muskingum County, "Amasa Emorheiser" is 13, Elizabeth 16. They're with the Thomas and Harriet Humphrey family, and their daughter Ann, 123.
In 1870 Muskingum County, Ohio, Amasiah is 23, born in Ohio, a farm laborer for Abner and Mary Humphry.
He's included in the Mordecai and Margaret Thomas household in Muskingum County in 1870, too.
Joseph William Emenhiser was born January 22, 1880 in Allen County, Indiana to Amiriah W. Emenhiser and Frances C. Thorp. Joseph married Ava Blanche Hamilton June 30 1920 in Steuben County, Indiana.
In 1880 Allen County, Indiana, "Emaziah Emenizer" is 35, farming, with Anna 21 Mississippi Liza 4, Ohio, and Joseph 2, Indiana.

Amasiah cash-claimed a quarter in 29, 1S 43W in 1891.



One tree said that Amasiah died in Fort Wayne Indiana in 1880.
Another said that he married Anna and had son Joseph.
In 1910 Steuben County, Indiana, Joseph Emenhiser is 30, with stepfather John A. Rowe, 72 and Fannie Rowe 52. They've been married twenty years. Fannie has been married before, and has had three kids, one living. So Liza must have died.

Joseph William Emerhiser registered for WWI in Steuben County, born January 22, 1880, working for the Wabash R.R. Nearest relative was Francis E. Row of Steuben County."

In 1920 Joseph is in DeKalb County, 39, single, living in a rooming house.
Joseph married Ava Blanche Hamilton June 30, 1920, in Steuben County, Indiana.
In 1930 Joseph is in DeKalb County, Indiana , 50 with wife "Ara" B. 58, both born in Indiana.
1938 Waterloo, Indiana - at a Christmas program Ava Emenhiser was a pianist.
In 1940 DeKalb County, Joseph and Ava, both 60, are alone.

Joseph 1880-1941 and Ava 1872-1949 are buried in Steuben County, # 112420008.
So is Francis Rowe 1855-1919 # 144463459.

Elizabeth Emerhizer and Joseph Downey's son Joseph Downey married Josephine Moore in Brown County, Indiana April 18, 1904.
