In 1880 Adams County, Nebraska, B.F. "Tremble", born in Ohio, and Virginia born in Kentucky are 39. "Nelson" 17, Lucinda 15 and William 13 were born in Iowa, Margaret 11 and Nancy 9 in Missouri, and Fernando and Mahalia, both 7, and James 4 born in Nebraska.

In 1900 Adams County, Nebraska, John N. Trembly born Dec 1863 Iowa married 14 years to Jane A. May 1868 Michigan, have Grace V. May 1899, and adopted daughter Ora M. Juyly 1899.
"Habe" is likelly Salmas H. Trembly, who in 1880 Decatur County, Iowa was 16, living with David 46 and Nancy J. 36. Robert Lee is 9, Lenora E. 7, William A. 4, Moreganny 2, and newborn Frances,. Sarah L. is 5, Dorothal is 18, Benjamin F. 20, and Wonderful - son - is 11.
Virginia is in Dundy County, Nebraska in 1900, born July 1841 Kentucky, married 38 years to Ben July 1841 Ohio. Fernando, W. born March 1874 in Nebaska is with them, and nephew Habe Trembly April 1864 Iowa are farming with them.

In 1920 Laird precinct, Yuma County John M. Trembly 56 Iowa, married to Jane E. 54 Michigan, have Grace V. 20, Benjamin M. 16, Lula L. 14, and Cora M. 11, all kids born in Nebraska. Virginia M. 77, widowed, mother, was born in Missouri.

1922 "Misses Ethel McConnell, Gladys Graham, Grace Trembly and Fannie Bashford, and Henry Peters motored to Ford Morgan and attended the district convention of th eChristian Endeavor, delegates from Wray to the convention."


In 1922 J.R. Trembly was president of school district # 75, Laird.

John Nelson Trembly 1863-1929, is buried in Benkelman, Nebraska # 120545145, with Jane Anne (Matters) Trembly 1865-1939.
Benjamin F. Trembly had claimed land in Adams County, Nebraska in 1883, and Ezekiel Trembly in Dundy County in 1890, Salmus Trembly in 1891 in Dundy County, William T. Trembly in 1900 in Dundy County, and Fernando Trembly in Dundy County in 1913.

Benjamin Franklin Trembly 1841-1910 is buried in Benkelman # 120545035.

Virginia Margaret (Wisdom) Trembly 1841-1928, per # 120545233, is probably buried in Mount Zion, Benkelman. " Marker not located at this time. The cemetery is basically abandoned and overgrown, and it is entirely possible that some grave markers could be overgrown and hidden."

Cora Margaret (Trembly) Fisher 1908-2003 is buried in Wray.
1956 "Miss Margaret Trembly, daughter of Mrs and Mrs. Ben Trembly of Laird, and Richard Evans, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Evans of Evans, were wed recently at the Laird Methodist church. Ruthie and Crystal Trembly, sisters of the bride, lit the candles. Joyce Sawyer, her niece, was flower girl."

Ben M. Trembly married Leola Fisher Dec 7, 1927, recorded in Yuma County.

Catherine O. (Trembly) Sawyer 1928-2008 is buried in Kansas.


Jacob Nelson Trembly, 85, died peacefully June 16th, 2015, at his home in Cozad, Nebraska, after a brave battle with cancer. Jake was born April 18th, 1930, at Wray, Colorado, to Benjamin and Leola (Fisher) Trembly.
He grew up near Laird, Colorado and attended school in Laird, graduating in 1949. On December 31st, 1951, Jake married Elaine Northrup. As newlyweds they lived in the Wray and St. Francis, Kansas areas where their first two children were born. In 1955, they moved to Medicine Lodge, Kansas area where two more children were born. Later they moved back to the St. Francis area.
They moved to Cozad in September of 1969. Jake worked various jobs before joining Monroe Auto at Cozad as a machine operator. Jake worked many years before retiring from Monroe Auto in the mid 1990s. Jake was a member of the Cozad Bible Church serving as Sunday School Superintendent for 27 years. He also served with the Gideon's International. For many years he listened to students recite Bible memory verses at Awana Bible Club. He helped build houses on three mission trips to Mexico.
He and Elaine traveled to Africa to visit their daughter Sheryl and family in 2006. He took great joy in knowing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending activities they were involved in. Jake loved to joke with many. He liked to play Chinese Checkers with his siblings. Jake spent several years in a bowling league in Cozad. He embraced technology in his 80's by getting an iPad so he could play solitaire. Jake loved to read, he looked forward to the several weekly newspapers from Cozad, North Platte, St. Francis, and Wray communities.
He enjoyed many hours in his garden. Jake spent many hours working with his woodworking crafts. His grandchildren loved spending time helping him build things in the wood shop. They also enjoyed playing pool with him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; his parents; three sisters, Cathy Sawyer, Violet Moss and May Ann Allen; two brothers-in-law, Chuck Sawyer and Edgar Moss; two sister-in-laws, Mona Cassens and Viola Cassens and one grandson, Adam Joseph Trembly.
Jake is lovingly survived by his four children: Anita (Charles) Martin, Lexington, Nebraska; Kent (Kathy) Trembly, Wahoo, Nebraska; Sheryl (Greg) Fasse, Roswell, Georgia; Kevin (Sue) Trembly, Spring Hill, Kansas; 14 Grandchildren : Jeremy (Gail) Martin, Melissa (Christo) Philip, Bryce (Valerie) Martin, Jennifer (Ryan) Gross, Kristina Trembly, David (Lacy) Trembly, Amy (Mike) Klauer, Benjamin Trembly, Julie Fasse, Ian Trembly, Hannah Trembly, Alyssa Trembly, Jory Fasse and Annika Trembly; 12 great-grandchildren, Karuna, Luke, Vivek Philip, Chase, Regan, Kaitlin Martin, Landon, Callie and Kimber Martin, Hadlee, Brandon and Kale Trembly and one brother, Dwayne Trembly, of Cheyenne, Wyoming and three sisters, Marty (Dick) Evans, Wray; Ruth (Dave) Houston, Wray and Crystal (Larry) Zion, Idalia, Colorado; two brothers-in-law, Norvin (Donna) Northrup, St. Francis, Kansas and Jerry Allen, Simla, Colorado.
Services were held Saturday, June 20th, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Cozad Bible Church with Pastor JC Calhoun officiating. Burial followed the service at Clough Valley Baptist Church, St. Francis, Kansas.

May Ann Allen, 69, of Simla, Colorado passed away on January 3, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Simla, Colorado.
May Ann was born September 14, 1937 in Yuma County, Colorado to Benjamin and Leola (Fisher) Trembly. She was one of eight children. May Ann graduated from Laird High School in 1955 and then went on to attend the College of the Rockies in Denver, Colorado, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Biblical Education in 1959. On August 1st of that same year, May Ann married Jerry Allen in St. Francis, Kansas. To this union two children were born; son Jerry (Chip) and daughter Kimberly.
May Ann enjoyed collecting Depression glass and fruit jars. She also enjoyed collecting pens and pencils from all over the world, a hobby she started when she was just eight years old. May Ann loved hiking, camping and taking walks. She joyfully served alongside her husband, Jerry, in various parts of Colorado and Oklahoma over the years.
May Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Leola, and her brother-in-law Edgar Moss.
May Ann is survived by; her husband Jerry Allen of Simla, Colorado; son Jerry (Chip) and Roberta Allen of Limon, Colorado; daughter Kimberly Allen of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; brothers Jake (Elaine) Trembly of Cozad, Nebraska and Dwayne (Janet) Trembly of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and sisters Catherine (Chuck) Sawyer of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, Violet Moss of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, Margeret (Richard) Evans of Wray, Colorado, Ruth (Dave) Houston of Wray, Colorado and Crystal (Larry) Zion of Idalia, Colorado. May Ann is also survived by her two granddaughters, Marie and Alice, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for May Ann will be held on Monday, January 8th, 2007 at 2:00 P.M.at the Big Sandy School Gymnasium in Simla, Colorado with Pastor Paul Rosentrater, along with Jerry and Chip Allen, officiating the service. Burial followed at the Simla Cemetery.

Doretta Irene (Trembly) Yost was born on January 29, 1939 near Haigler, Nebraska to Earl and Vaneta Tembly. She passed away Sunday, November 9, 2008 at the Wray Community District Hospital at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 10 days. After graduation from Haigler High School in 1956 she moved to Denver, Colorado, to train as a nurse, where she met her first husband, Neil Brenke. They married on September 29, 1957. To this union five children were born: Scott, Jennifer, Kathleen, Clayton and Sean. On August 17, 1973 Doretta married John Yost of Wray, Colorado and had three children together, a daughter Doreen Ray, Raylene and Raymond. She loved to can foods, crochet,sew and playing cards with friends and family. She especially loved working at the hospital and made many lifetime friends there. She retired in 2005 after 26 years. She will be sadly missed by her husband, John; her daughters Jennifer (Randy) Schafer, Kathleen (Dave) Kerchal, and Raylene Yost and Josh Gies, her sons: Scott Brenke, Clayton (Mary) Brenke, Sean Brenke, and Raymond Yost and Maureen Elbert; her brother, Benny (Michaelle) Trembly, 19 grandchildren, 7 adopted grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death is her infant daughter, Doreen, parents, Earl and Vaneta Trembly, brother, Jimmy and father-in-law, Lloyd Yost. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wray United Methodist Church in Wray, CO with Rev. Norman Stott officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview

"Larry D. Trembly, age 56, passed away on March 7, 2012 in Gateway, CO as the result of an automobile accident. Larry was born on January 11, 1956 to Vernon and Lois (Wheaton) Trembly in Wray, CO. He graduated high school in Haigler, NE. He was a member of 4-H as a youth.
He married Elise Blasi in 1985. He served in the Navy from 1980 -1986. Larry was a horseman by trade and specialized in Animal Health at Murdoch's Ranch and Home Supply. He enjoyed training horses, and the outdoor life (as long as it wasn't too cold); he was also extremely proud of his Native American heritage. Larry is survived by his father, Vernon Trembly, of Uniontown, KS; his brother, Al "Spurs" (Laura Dawn) Trembly of Gateway, CO, his sisters, Ginger (Donnie) Zuege, of Haigler, NE and Angie (Richard) Zwirn, of Yuma, CO; his nieces and nephews, Chris Zuege and Tiffani Graham and family; Candie and Frank Merklin and family; Grace Todd and S.J. Donahue and family; Genie and Greg Cole and family; Jill and Troy Zweygardt; Brody Zwirn and Tylyn Zwirn; Tosha and Corey Terwilliger and family; Lance Trembly and family; Bri Trembly; and Ashley Dawn Haley. Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Merle Wheaton, his grandparents Merle "Dick" and Anna Wheaton and Floyd and Mattie Trembly, and his niece Amy Marie Roehm. There will be a memorial service held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Corrals of our Cowboy Preacher at 10:30 a.m. and a graveside service on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Haigler Cemetery in Haigler, NE at 10:30 a.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mesa Funeral Service in Grand Junction, CO and Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home in Wray, CO."

Lloyd Earl Trembly was born on a farm north of Benkelman, NE Aug. 10, 1914 to Fernando and Irene (Bowker) Trembly. He passed away Nov. 30,1984 at the Wray Community District Hos­pital at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 20 days.
Apr. 10, 1934 Earl married Vaneta White. To this union were born a daughter Doretta Irene and two sons Jimmy Earl and Benny Earl.

In 1945 they moved to Haigler, NE where they operated the Trembly Hardware Store until 1969.
He was well known and very active in his community, lending a helping hand whenever he could. In his earlier years Earl enjoyed hunting and fishing while in his retirement he took pride in his garden which he maintained until his recent illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Floyd, Wesley, Lyle and baby Dwight; one sister Jennie Heins and one granddaughter Dorene Ray Yost.
Survivors include his wife Vaneta; daughter Doretta and husband John Yost of Wray; two sons, Jim and wife Carol of St. Francis, KS and Ben and wife Michaelle of Kearney, NE; two sisters, Irene Douglas of Holyoke and Pauline and husband John Busby of St. Francis, KS; one brother Wayne and wife Lou of Northlake, IL; 11 grandchild­ren, six great grandchildren and numerous friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 4, 1984 at the United Methodist Church in Haigler, NE with Rev. Harold Urton officiating. Interment followed in the Haigler Cemetery.
