Frank Coffeen, 307 North First street, fell at his home Wednesday morning, suffering a broken hip.
His condition is reported fair by his niece, Mrs. W Sparks, who, with her husband, lives with the 93-year-old man.
Mrs. Sparks is a niece of the late Mrs Coffeen, who died in 19?1. Mrs. Coffeen's sister, Mrs. Mary Long, who made her
home with him, died Jan. 29, 1951, as a result of burns after her clothing caught fire at an open stove."

September 1914 "Mrs. Elisabeth Fowler left Monday for her home in Billings,
Mont., after a visit of several weeks with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Long
and brother, S. W. Seward, and family of Laird. Mrs. Long accompanied her
mother to Billings. They were guests of Mrs. O. P. Dyar while in Wray."

visited a few days at the home of Mr. Seward's brother, Sam Seward. Mr.
Seward accompanied them and will visit his sister, Mrs. Lizzie Fowler of

Henry Allen Long was born in Harrison County, Iowa, March 31, 1868, and departed this life at his home northwest
of Haigler, Nebraska, on May 2, 1931, aged sixty-four years, one month and two days. When but a small child he moved
to Union County, Iowa. On December 31, 1890, he was united in marriage to Della Jane Fowler.
To this union eight children were born, five girls and three boys, all of whom are still living,
Mrs. Pearle Sparks, of Caldlandwell, Kansas,
Mrs. Goldie Westmorland, of Raton, New Mexico,
Mrs. Gladys Haas, of Lincoln, Kansas,
Mrs. Iva Streka, of Wymore, Nebraska,
George of Palisade, Nebraska, Edward, Clifford and Bertha of Haigler.
In 1892 the family moved to Palisade, Nebraska, and in 1893 to Cheyenne County, Kansas.
Later they moved to Dundy County, Nebraska, where they have resided until the present time.
In December, 1930, Mr. Long accepted Christ as his Savior and united with the Methodist Church at Laird, Colorado.
He is survived by his wife, the eight children, eight grand children,
two sisters, Ella Coffeen and Mary of Arkansas City, Kansas, and one brother, Will, of Palisade, Nebraska,
Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist Church at Haigler, May 4th. A choir composed of Rev. C. E. Catlett,
Mrs. Beulah Davis, Mrs. Ruth Dalziel and Tony Bangs, with Mrs. Mamie Turpin, pianist, rendered
'Nearer My God To Thee.' 'Rock Of Ages,' and 'Shall We Gather at the River,' all favorite hymns of Mr. Long.
O. O. Wood spoke from the question found in Job 14:14, 'If a man die, shall he live again?'
Interment was in the Haigler cemetery."

Mrs. Della Long passed away very suddenly following a heart attack at the
home of her son, George, southeast of Palisade, Nebraska Monday morning of
last week. Mrs. Long recently had suffered light attacks but her , died came
as a shock to her many friends in this community. Mrs. Long made her home in
the Palisade and Haigler communities for many years past and during this
time won the respect of a wide circle of friends, who join with members of
her family in mourning her. Della Jane, daughter of Edward and
Elizabeth Fowler, was born near Creston, Iowa on May 12, 1874 and departed
this life on November 10, 1941 at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 28 days.
She spent her girlhood days near Creston, where on December 31, 1890 she was
united in marriage to Henry Allen Long.
this union eight children were born, seven of whom survive, four daughters,
Mrs. Hardy Sparks of Caldwell, Kansas., Mrs. George Haas of Lincoln, Kansas,
Mrs. L. H. Westmorland of Eldon, Missouri, and Mrs. Frank Streka of Wymore,
Nebraska; and three sons, Edward of Powell, Wyoming. Clifford of Sacramento,
California, and George of Trenton.
In 1892 they moved to Nebraska and resided near Palisade. Later they moved
near Haigler, Nebraska, where she lived until about five years ago, when she
came to Palisade to make her home. She accepted her Saviour in 1936 and has
gone to be with him. She leaves to mourn her loss, seven children, twelve
grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, t?? sisters, two brothers,
other relatives and friends. Her father, husband and one daughter
preceded her in , died.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning from the home of the deceased
in Palisade and also
Haigler Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Chris Egle in charge and burial was made
in the Haigler cemetery.

October 1924 "Miss Gladys Long, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Long,
prominent residents of the farming district northwest of Haigler, was united
in marriage on Wednesday, Oct 1, to George Henry Haas of Waterloo, Iowa. The
ceremony was performdd at Wray, Colo., by the county judge of Yuma county.
The groom is an employee of the firm of Doling Brothers of Denver, and will
complete his work with this concern on the state highway in about six weeks,
when he will take his bride to Matheson, Colo., where he will enter the
employ of a livestock company in that town, according to one report. Another
report says Mr. and Mrs. Haas will reside in Colorado Springs after Nov. 1.
Matheson is a small town about 65 miles east of Colorado Springs on the Rock
Island railroad."

former Ivo and Pearl Long, daughters of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Long.

Palisade, Neb. They had attended memorial services at Haigler where the

"Funeral services were held on February 25, at the Gospel Hall at 2 p.m. for George W. Long. The escort was Herman Schroeder, Yale Hunt, Harold Mihm, John Lawless, Gordon Magorian and William Ward. Burial was made in the Palisade Cemetery.
George W. Long passed away at St. Catherines Hospital, McCook, Ne. on Tuesday, February 23, 1960 at the age of 63 years. George W. Long, son og Henry A. and Della J. Long, was born May 19, 1896 in Kansas, near Haigler, Ne. As a child he lived near Haigler and Laird, Colorado. He was a veteran of WWI serving 13 months overseas.
He married on January 1921 to Edna Divine. To this union two sons, Clifford LeRoy and George Edsel were born. Edna passed away April 1923. On Sept. 4, 1926 he was united in marriage with Myrtle Hannel. To this union two children were born, Delbert Earl who died in infancy and a daughter, Mary Jane. Mr. and Mrs. Longg resided on a farm near Palisade until October 1951, when they moved to their present home in Palisade. He accecpted his Savior in November 1928, and has lived a full Christian life. He was active in farming until his last illness, and was esteemed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Myrle: two sons Clifford of Oak Grove, Or. and George of Englewood, Co., one daughter, Mary Jane Raburn of Roe, New York, and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Clifford Powell of Wy. and Edward of Newkirk, Ok. Also three sisters, Mrs. Iva Strka, Wymore, Ne, Mrs. Gladlys Ernest, Linclon, Ka. and Mrs. Goldie Westmoreland of Eldon, Mo."
