George F. Kerley married Effie Henderson August 19, 1894 in Anderson Ounty, Texs.
In 1900 Palestine, Texas, George F. Kerley is a candy maker, born Oct 1871, married seven years to Effie Jan 1871. She's had three kids, two living. Lola November 1896 and Connard September 1899.
In 1910 they're in San Miguel County, New Mexico, farming. Lola is 13, Connie 10, Frank 7, and Ada May 5.
In 1919 George F Kerley was paid $78 by Yuma County for labor on road. Frank Kerley $43 for cooking for road crew.
In 1920 Yuma County, "Jorge" Kerley, 48 and Effie M. 49 have Elnard C. 18, Thomas F. 17, and Ada M. 14, all five born in Texas.
George was occupying in 1920, and proved up 200 acres in 32, 1S 42W in 1922.
Witnesses were Joseph H. Rosenkrans, William Rosenkrans, George Andrewss, and Matt Bashford.
Conrad C. Kerley married B. Gladys Campbell Sept 19, 1923, recorded in Crowley County, Colorado.
Bessie Campbell Kerley 1899-1927 is buried in Stafford County, Kansas # 24941358.
In 1930 Topeka Kansas, George is doing odd jobs. Conrad, widowed, is a painter for the Santa Fe, Frank a helper. Bertha - granddaughter is 9 born in Colorado Floyd, 5, Colorado, and Lloyd 4 Kansas grandsons.
George F. Kerley 1871-1963 is buried in Topeka # 67934086, with Effie May 1871-1952.
When Mrs. D. A. Haddick died in Mexia, Texas in August 1951, survivors include two sisters, Mrs. D.W. Dela Mexia, Mrs. W.M. Kirton, Fort Worth, three brothers, George Kerley topeka Kansas, Johnnie and Joe Kerley, Ben Hur.
Ada Mae Kerley married Louis C. Saulmon Nov 18, 1923, recorded in Otero County, Colorado.
In 1930 Rocky Ford, Colorado, Louis is a waiter in a cafe, with Ada M. 24, Vera 5, Illinois, and AAudry 2 Colorado.
In 1940 they're in Mission California, where Louis C. 36 Missouri is a gas station attendatnt. And Mae 34, born in Palestine Texas has Vera Mae 15 Colorado and COlleen 13 Illinois.
Ada Saulman, born April 13, 1954 in Texas, died January 22, 1954 in Riverside County, California.
Vera Mae Glantz, wife of Don Glantz, is buried in Fort Rosecrans, 1924-1993.
Conrad C. Kerley -1901-1980 # 16139333 and Bertha 1912 - ? are buried in Topeka.
T. Frank Kerley 1903-1960 # 16675616 and Ruby E. 1913-2002 are also buried in Topeka.
October 30, 1960 "Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Parker Mortuary for Thomas F. KERLEY, 57, 1321 W. 11th, who died at his home Saturday. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 30, 1903, at Palestine, Tex., and had lived in Topeka since 1928. He was a former boilermaker for the Santa Fe Railway.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ruby E. Kerley of the home; three sons, Ronald Joe Kerley and Clarence W. Kerley, both of the home; and Lowell Kerley, address unknown; two daughters, Evelyn Jane Kerley of Atchison and Eula Kerley, address unknown; his father, George Kerley and brother, C.C. Kerley, both of 219 Wilson. "
Thanks to Donna "My Uncle Ron was actually Ronald Joseph Kerley, (Not Joe as it is written) and my Mother was (before Marriage) Evelyn Jean Kerley (Not Jane as it is written). She married Donald L Moler and then went by Evelyn Jean Moler. I look forward to learning more about the Kerley family other than what I know (which is really only extensive knowledge about my Grandparents Ruby and Thomas and My Uncles Clarence (Bill) and Ronald (Ron)"
LOLA
"Lola Lee Kerley was born Oct. 7th 1895. She married Hubert Magill Hargis on August 6, 1914. He was born Mar. 15th 1997 She died Dec.30, 1941. Herbert died Mar. 31,1955.
Hubert Magill Hargis registered in Wray for WWI, born March 15, 1887 in Fordland, Webster County, Missouri, a laborer for the C B & Q.
In 1920 Breckenridge, Colorado, "Hubert" Hargis is 32, born in Missouri, working at a lumber mill. Lola is 24, Lila 4, and Delbert 2.
In 1930 Thomas County, Kansas, Gilbert M. Hargis is a laborer at the city dump, 42, born in Missouri. Lola L. 34 Texas, Lula J. 14 Wyoming, Albert D. 12, Colorado, Bertha B. 10 Colorado, and Martin M. 6 Colorado.
In 1940 Garfield County, Colorado. H. M. is 53, Lola L. 44, with Bertha 19, Gladys 17, Martin 16, Walter 9 Kansas, and Velma V. 4 Colorado. They were in Wray, Yuma County, in 1935.

Mexia
Never in the history of Mexia has there been such gloom cast over its
people than now. Two of the oldest citizens gone to their reward.
Friday evening the sad news reached Mexia that J. W. Kerley of Benhur
was dead. Mr. Kerley came to Limestone county in the spring of 1851
and lived in, and near Mexia until eight years ago when he moved to
Benhur where he has since made his home. He was buried at Hornhill
Cemetery Saturday evening at 3 o'clock. His wife, ten children and
three sisters survive him. His sisters are Mesdames Linley (prob.
Lindsey) of Wortham, Wells of Shiloh, and Gage of Benhur who lived
with her brother. Mr Kerley and his wife raised twelve children and
both lived to see them all grown and married, six boys and six girls.
There were nine of them ar his bedside when he died; five sons and
four daughters. One son that lives in Palestine could not leave home
on account of sickness in his family. We can truthfully say "A good
man has gone to his reward".

The Kerley Family reunion was held at Ft. Parker State Park Sunday. May llth.,
with seven elderly Kerleys present: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kerley, their son and family of Ben Hur;
Mr. and Mrs. George Kerley, of Topeka, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Alver Kerley of Dallas, their son
and his wife of Prairie Hill; Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Kerley their son and daughter and their families
from Delia and Ben Hur; Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Haddick, seven of their children and families,
Mrs. Leon Terry, Roy and wife of Fort Worth, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kerley, of Freeport,
Clyde of Petersburg. Joe and David of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Talley, Zora and Jimmy Peddycord
of Houston; Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Kirton of Ft. Worth with their two sons and families of Ft. Worth
and Morgan; Mr. and Mrs. Delo of Mexia with two or their sons and families,
Ronald and wife of ....ly, Kerley and wife of Texarkana, and two daughters with their families,
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Dezell of Mexia, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thornton of Tehuacana.
Also present were Ernest Gregory, son of the late Ben and Matilda Gregory, his wife,
daughter and son-in-law of Mexia. Cousins of the family attending were
Mrs. Nannie Moody Hutchinson, her son and family, also two other granddaughters, all of Waco,
Mr. and Mrs. Gamble with six of their children and families,
and other friends of the Kerley family visited during the day.
Because of illness, Cousin John Allison of California, and his sister,
Mrs. Brooks of Denton, Texas, were unable to attend.
Jimmy Peddycord entertained with boat rides on the lake all during the day.
The food was plentiful, and everyone spent an enjoyable day. Mrs. Delo,
who reported this family meeting, stated that one hundred and nineteen
attended the picnic dinner and approximately that number of relatives and friends
called during the afternoon.
