In 1885 Saline County, Nebraska, Z. Dillon is 38, Alyssia 37, with Eunice May 16, Jasper E. 14, Florence 12, and Eyultua 10.

In 1900 Saline County, Nebraska, Jasper E. Dillon born Jan 1871 Illinois, married eight years to Zadie Apr 1874 Indiana, have Claire E. Sept 1893 and Edith M. May 1898, both Nebraska. Jasper is a farmer-engineer.
In 1900 Yuma County, Eli Schaaf born July 1851 in Ohio, married 26 years to Nancy J. Oct 1853 in Indiana, are farming. Barbara Anderson, mother-in-law, June 1833 Ohio is with them. On the same page is Estey Schaaf June 1877 Indiana, married one year to Laura M. Feb 1880 Iowa.
1901 Wray (Colorado) Rattler

Barbara Anderson was born Barbara Arnold who married Christopher Nisonger, of Kosciusko County, Indiana, and then Steuben County, Indiana. Mr. Nisonger died in 1874 "and his widow is now living in Colorado at the age of eighty-seven. In the Nisonger family were five children - Jennie, Jackson, Jacob, Dora, and Alice.
Barbara Nisonger married William Anderson in Steuben County, Indiana Oct 11, 1881.
" In the Cemeteries of Steuben County 1990 Volume 2 Page 1356 it reads: Nisonger, Christopher, Born August 6, 1830, Died February 3, 1874 Circle Hill Cemetery Angola Indiana.
Nisonger, Barbara (Arnold) Born June 25, 1833, Died July 10, 1925 “his wife” Mrs Christopher Nisonger Barbara married 1st Christopher Nisonger; married second_________ Anderson Circle Hill Cemetery Angola Indiana Lot 59 Section 11
His does not say what lot or section. "

Dora Nisonger, daughter of Christopher Nisonger and Barbara Arnold, married Alonzo McMillan in Angola, Indiana, March 26, 1886.
1898 Steuben Republican, Angola Indiana "Mrs. Barbara Anderson has been painting her house and building a cement walk on North Wayne street."

1904 Wray "Jasper Dillon of McCook Nebraska, who is traveling salesman for an eastern fruit house, was in town last Friday. Mr. Dillon is a son-in-law of Eli Schaaff, south of town."
1909 "Jasper Dillon has purchased the Gus Hiser threshing machine engine that had been stored at the Smith blacksmith shop with which to run his separator. He left town with it Wednesday and will start his season's work at his own place."

Zachariah Dillon 1847-1917 is buried in Saline County, Nebraska, with Almira (Mumma) Dillon 1847-1923.

In 1910 Yuma County, Jasper and Zadie have Ellis C., 16, Edith M. 12, and Raymond 4.
1912 "The threshing outfit belonging to Charles Hoxsley of Friend, Nebraska, began work Tuesday morning with the wheat on the A.E. Tabor farm with Jasper Dillon as the manager of the same."
1913 "Harold, three yeara old son, had a finger cut off Tuesday morning, when he and other children were playing around a wagon tongue.
November 18, 1913 a girl baby born to Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Dillon.

Jasper proved up a quarter in 30, 1S 42W in 1913, and another in 1914.


The Wray Rattler of March 20, 1913 said "Jap Dillon made final five year proof on his homestead Monday."
Witnesses were Lewis Fisher, Jacob Fisher, Eli Schaaf, and Elbert Bowman.
1917 - Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Dillon sold their 480-acre farm fourteen miles southeast of Wray to John N. Trembley of Wauneta, Nebraska."
In 1920 Jasper and Zadie are in Vernon precinct, with Raymond 14, Ross Harold 8, and Inez Marian 6.
In 1930 they're in Jefferson County, Colorado, with only Inez M. 16. Jasper is running a truck service for himself.
Jasper 69 and Zadie 65 are alone in Jefferson COunty in 1940.
Jasper E. Dillon 1871-1951 is buried in Golden Colorado # 46987550, with Zadie 1874-1948 # 46987560.

1913 "Edith Dillon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Dillon south of town led in the eighth grade examinations with an average of 86 4-9.

1919 "Miss Edith Dillon of Eckley was the week end guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dillon."

Edith M. Israel, widowed, born May 1, 1897 died in Pasadena Texas March 21, 1974, to be buried in South Park cemetery.

1917 Clair Ellis Dillon registered for WWI in Laird, born Sept 24, 1893 at Friend, Nebraska.
In 1940 Jefferson County, Colorado, Clair - a truck driver - and Cora, both 46, have Eileen 22 a secretary, Mirth and Merna, both 16, Roberta 13,a nd Donald 9,.
Claire E. Dillon 1893-1980 is buried in Golden # 60221984, with Cora 1893-1981, # 60221995


Donald Hugh Dillon passed away on Sunday, May 3rd, 2015 from complications of Alzheimer's. Don was born on September 15th, 1930 to Clair and Cora Dillon of Golden, Colorado.
Don was the youngest of 6 children born to Clair and Cora. Don' s 5 older sisters were Eileen, Leora, Mirth, Myrna and Roberta -who are all also deceased.
After high school Don spent 4 years in the air force where he was primarily stationed in Panama City, FL and then later in Mt. Mckinley, Alaska where he was an ice-skating and skiing instructor. Don married Carol Bowden of Denver in 1956 and together they had 2 children - Jade (57) of Conifer, Colorado and Greg (55) -who currently resides in Marietta, GA. Don and Carol divorced in 1968 and Don married Trudie Simpson of Golden, Colorado in 2000. Don is survived by Trudie and her daughter Dawn Goring , her husband Art and their son Haydyn (18) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Don is also survived by daughter Jade and her daughters Gabrielle Chisolm (29) (and Husband Colin) of Conifer, Colorado and Skylar Heselius (23) of Frisco, Colorado, as well as son Greg (wife Kathryn) and their daughters - Jessica Franklin (25) (and Husband Samuel) of Smyrna, GA; Danielle (22) of Marietta, GA and Brittany (20) of Savannah, GA. Don always loved the outdoors. Growing up in Golden he spent his boyhood hunting and playing on the mountainsides around Golden and Clear Creek Canyon, and later in life in Frisco, Colorado where he built a cabin in the 1970's. Having been stationed in Alaska in the air force, Don always longed to return to the pristine wilderness there and did so on a number of occasions. Don worked for the Adolf Coors Brewing Company for over 40 years, retiring and then working for a Coors distributor in Summit county, and finally for the CDC in Denver up until July of 2013 (over 60 years all together). Don will be remembered as a man who was extremely loyal to his employer, intensely patriotic and a people-person who could talk with anyone and who loved to kid around with anyone who would engage in his sense of humor.

Mirth Carol Jerman (88) passed away October 5th 2011 at the Stratford Assisted Living Center in Phoenix. Mirth was born (twin), to Clair and Cora Dillon in Wray, Colorado on September 29th, 1923 on the family farm. Mirth was one of 5 girls and 1 boy. Mirth is preceded in death by her husband Harold (Hal), sisters; Erma, Merna (twin), Leora, Bobbi and Mirth's only son Rodney Starke.
She is survived by her younger brother Don, two grandchildren, Wade (Brant) Starke and Karen Richardson. She had five great grand children and one great-great grandchild.
Mirth had worked as a Radiologist Assistant in Tucson before moving to San Manuel and then Phoenix where she met Hal. Hal and Mirth married December 31st 1969.They lived in Phoenix for a great many years enjoying golf and running to Roosevelt Lake and pheasant hunting in South Dakota. Mirth also enjoyed ceramics and all kinds of other crafts, but most of all she loved to laugh. She will be missed. Services will be held on Wednesday, October 19 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Ave in Phoenix. Viewing at 1:00 pm, Service at 2:00 pm and Graveside at 3:00 pm.

Ross W. Clem, 59, for twenty-seven years a resident of Nelson, died at the wheel of his car last Thursday evening while returning to his home here from Deweese. He was stricken at a point about six and one-half miles north of town on Highway 14 at about 6:30 p.m. Apoplexy was given as the cause of death by Dr. J.E. Ingram, the attending physician.
Mr. Clem had arisen early in the morning and gone to Deweese where he was having repairs made on his car. While these were being made he spent the time fishing in the Little Blue river (sic) nearby. When his car became available in the late afternoon he picked it up and left for Nelson.
Following his lapse the car went into the ditch, through the fence and into the Harris pasture, where it stalled on a rise and backed into the ravine. Frank R. Harris, a farmer living nearby, in company with Arthur M. Ray went to the scene, and upon finding Mr. Clem's body called the authorities in Nelson.
Mr. Clem had been in apparent good health and his untimely passing came as a distinct shock to the community.
Ross W. Clem, son of the Rev. Adam and Margaret Clem, was born near Fort Wayne, Indiana, September 23, 1886; departed this life at Nelson Nebraska, August 1, 1946, at the age of 59 years, 10 months and 7 days.
At the age of 18 years, or in the year 1904 he came to Dorchester, Nebr. When he was 21 years of age he took a homestead in Yuma county (sic), near Wray, Colorado. He returned to Dorchester in 1915.
In the year 1917 on the 15th of May, he was united in marriage to Miss Grayce Pearl Dillon, and after their marriage they moved to Findley, Ohio. They made their home at Findley until the year of 1919, when they moved to Nelson, going to a farm two miles east and one-fourth north of Nelson. Later they moved to a farm one mile north and three and a half east of Nelson. They lived on each of these farms for six years, coming to Nelson and entering in the insurance business in 1932. In this new enterprise he was very successful, receiving many recognitions from his company. Within the last year the insurance company gave him a vacation in the form of a hunting trip with all expenses paid. He had the fine gift of making friends, indeed in this very busy world he took time to make friends.
He joined the Methodist Church when a boy, but he became a member of the Nelson Methodist Church in 1924 under the pastor, Rev. V.R. Beebe.
Ross was the youngest of six children. The father preceded him in the year 1893 and the mother in 1923. Those who are left behind along with his loving and faithful wife, are three sisters and two brothers. They are Mrs. Mary Nelson and Mrs. Myrtle E. Peters both of Wray, Colorado; Sadie Mendenhall of Findley, Ohio; George W. of Wray, Colo.; and Winfield A. of Palmyra, Nebr. Besides these he leaves eight nieces and six nephews; also five great nieces and eight great nephews. He will be greatly missed by his friends and loved ones.
He was a member of the Lions Club of Nelson and he enjoyed the fellowship of the men of this very find organization.

The funeral service was held at the Methodist Church at two o'clock. Rev. V.R. Daniels of Harvard was in charge with Rev. Clarence V. Powell assisting. Music was furnished by a quartet - Mrs. L.F. Sinkey, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. F. Murphy and Lowell Powell. Mrs. Sinkey also sang a solo. Mrs. Hite assisted at the piano. Burial was at the Nelson cemetery (sic). The pallbearers were from the Lions Club and they also met in a body at the church.

Jasper Dillon's sister "Grayce Pearl (Dillon) Clem, daughter of Zachariah and Almira (Mumma) Dillon, was born near Dorchester, Nebraska, May 15, 1887. She departed this life on October 7, 1977, at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson. At the age of 12 years, Pearl with her parents, moved to Dorchester, where she finished high school. In 1905, she entered Wesleyan University and the Conservatory of Music at Lincoln, finishing in piano and voice i 1909. From the year she was 18 years old, she instructed piano and voice. Besides that she directed choirs in Dorchester, Wray and Yuma, Colorado, and in Nelson for 30 years. "
