1907 " Chigger Cure. "There's no need for any one suffering from chiggers," said Joseph L. Merkl, of 919 Harrison street, Kansas City. "I used to live in Kansas and had some unpleasant experience with chiggers on the farm. Let any one suffering from chiggers get twenty cents wortn of tincture of arnica at any drug store and bathe the chigger bites freely with it. It relieves the itching and after being repeated a few times gives permanent relief. I know of many Kansas farmers who apply the arnica before going into the fields. It keeps the chiggers off."
