June 1944 Lodi, California "Silas Ezra Vandervort of 224 Louie avenue,
passed away at his home Thursday morning at the age of 85.
Although a native of Lee county, Illionois, Mr. Vandervort had been a resident of California since 1924
and had made his home in Lodi for many years.
He was the father of Mrs. Pearl Aldridge of Lodi;
Jessie I. Vandervort of Denver, Colo., and Leo Vandervort of Los Angeles,
and the grandfather of Marjorie H. Vandervort of Holdredge, Neb.;
Mrs. Mabel Yager of Lodi, and the late TSgt. Lemoine Yager, who was killed in action
during the present war on March 31, 1943.
Mr. Vandervort was also the brother of Charles Vandervort of Douglas, Nebraska.
Funeral services will take place Saturday at 2 p. m. from the chapel of Hale & Bawden. Interment will be made in Lodi cemetery."

June 1910 Hastings "A pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Eldredge, 216 North Kansas avenue,
on Wednesday evening, June 15, when their daughter Edna Evelyn was joined in matrimony to Mr. John Roy Weaver in
the presence of only immediate relatives. At 8:80 Miss Ethel Decker played the wedding march.
The bridal couple, accompanied by Miss Bessie Weaver aa bridesmaid and
Mr. Floyd Eldredge as best
man advanced to the parlor before a neatly arranged cluster of lilies and ferns where the marriage ceremony waa performed by
Rev. R. A. Schell. After receiving the congratulations of those present the
wedding party proceeded to the dining room which was decorated with roses and carnations,
where a dainty three course luncheon was served. Both young people are well and favorably known
in Hastings and have a host of friends who wish them much happiness on their journey through life."

She was a member of the Soroptimist Club of Newman and Gustine Merced County the Newman Garden Club and the Orestimba United Presbyterian Church."
