returned to Yuma yesterday morning, and is a guest at the home of his sister, Mrs. J. W.
Cochrane, south of town. He will probably remain here permanently."

September 30, 1948 Yuma Pioneer. "Funeral service was conducted for William Cochrane, who died
September 19 at Pueblo, at the Morris Mortuary Wednesday afternoon.
The following life sketch was read at the srvice. William Cochrane was born August 28, 1860 at
Durham, England and died on September 19, 1948 at Pueblo State hospital where he had been a patient
since 1945. In the early eighties he came to America where he spent a few years as a coal miner
and then together with his parents, brothers and sisters came to Yuma about 1886 and settled a
few miles south of town, where he resided until forced to retire.
In 1911 he was married to Mrs. Annie Horon, who preceded him in death. As far as is known he
was the last member of his immediate family. He is survived by two nephews, James Smith of Yuma and
Pat Smith of Haigler, Nebraska, two nieces, Anna Wolf of Pottsdown, Pennsylvania and Adell McCollum of Youngstown, Ohio,
and by many friends in this community. He was a humble man, honest, industrious and ready and willing to
assist his fellow man, and a neighbor that will not soon be forgotten.

" Sunday the sad news of the death of Sarah Jane Smith was brought in from her
home south of town. She was born in Durham county Knglnnd, April 2, 1876,
died August 22, 1909. She came to America with her parents in 1881, living in Sharon,
Pa., and Colchester, Illinois, until 1887 when she came with her parents to Yuma
county where she has since resided. In 1892 she married Michael Smith to whom
was born three children, Anna, now married, James and Patrick.
Her second marriage occured on the 1st day of December 1908 to John H. Smith with whom
she lived very happily until the end. She was loved and respected by the people of
this section who mourn with the dutiful and worthy husband, also four brothers,
William, Thomas, James and John in their sad bereavement."

Mekelburg district, Jack Cochrane threw his right arm out and broke it at the same time.
Wonder what kind of a curve he was trying to throw?"
May 1901 "Jack Cochrane visited Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stein of Brighton,
and the McMonigal home in Denver the fore part of the week. He reports the Stehr family
doing very well, and Guard McMonigal returning from the Philippines last Saturday."
April 1904 "Jack Cochrane met with an accident Sunday morning that is causing
him no little pain. While hitching up, one of the horses stood up and struck John in the
face with both feet."
May 1906 "Jack Cochrane, who recently went to Denver, sends word to the Pioneer
that he wants the news and orders this paper sent to his address."
August 1906 "Jack Cochrane, who has been working at the plumbing business in
Denver during the past three uonths, was in Yuma from Sunday until Tueaday, when he
left for Bisbee, Arizona on a plumbing contract. "
March 1907 "James Cochrane received a letter from Jack this week in which he
states California is a very nice country, but Yuma and surrounding country is preferable."
"Jack Cochrane was married May 5th at Los Angeles, California."
August 9, 1907 "By locking him up in his room, from which he was not able to escape for three days, L. Yancy,
a San Francisco mining man, claims his wife got that much start of him and eloped with John Cochrane of Yuma, Colorado.
Yancy says the pair went to Los Angeles, had an illegal marriage ceremony performed and then came to Colorado.
He wants the Denver police to find them. Yancy and his wife were married in 1892. Until four years ago they lived in Denver at 921 Twenty-first street. They went from here to the coast.
I was so weak from physical exhaustion, says Yancy, that I was compelled to crawl on my hands and knees to unlock the door of my room.
My wife left no word of explanation of her act and I was too ill to notice that she had made preparations to go away.
In the afternoon of May 8, she kissed me goodby and told me that she was going out to order groceries, and that was the last I saw of her. Yancy says he will reamain in Denver and do everything in
his power to find the whereabouts of his faithless wife and that he will cause her arrest and that of
Cochrane if he succeeds in locating them."

believe that when they get through roaming around that they will return to Yuma
and make this their home."

April 12, 1912 " Dr. Billsborrow reports the arrival of a bright little girl
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cochrane last Friday. The doctor says all are doing
nicely, and Jack corroborates his statement."
September 1914 "Mrs. James Taylor, of Denver, arrived Saturday evening,
and is a guest at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. John Cochrane, south of town."

February 1958 "Pvt. Ray K. McCollum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson K. McCollum, 613 Cantril St., Castle Rock, Colo., is receiving eight weeks of basic combat training with the 9th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colo. McCollum, 22, is a 1953 graduate of Englewood High School and was formerly employed by the Union Pacific Railroad, Wyoming Division."
July 1971 " Miss Janetta McCollum became the bride of Richard Scorsone in wedding rites performed June 5 at the St. Francis of Assissi Church in Castle Rock, Colo.. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Wilson K. McCollum of Castle Rock. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph V. Scorsone of North Platte, Neb., former residents of Ogden, Utah.
Father Clement V. Gallagher performed the double-ring ceremony and Father Ronald K. White of Christ Episcopal Church assisted. The couple was honored at a reception at the church. The bride was attired in a gown of white delustered satin with bodice and sleeves of lace.
It was fashioned with an empire waist and A-line skirt. Rows of lace trimmed the hemline and train. Mrs. Charles Scorsone, a sister-in-law of the bridegroom, attended as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Tanina Scorsone, Miss Debbie Hill, and Miss Cindy Kelty. The matron of honor wore a floor-length gown of pastel apricot over matching taffeta. The bridesmaids wore similar gowns in pastel blue. Best man was Charles Scorsone brother, of the bridegroom, ushers were Charles Rando, Jr., Ray McCollum, and Bud McCollum.
The newlyweds spent a wedding trip in Colorado Springs, Colo.. Out-of-town guests for the wedding were the parents of the bridegroom, Mrs. Rose C. Scorsone, North Platte, Neb., grandmother of the bridegroom: Tom Scorsone, Ogden. brother of the bridegroom, Mrs. Frances Bevinetto, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rando, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Accardo, and George Tsuda, all of Cheyenne, Wyo.. The new Mrs. Scorsone attended Weber State College. Her husband, a graduate of Ogden High School, attended Weber State and is presently serving aboard the USS Coral Sea."
