Charley E. Welty, born 29 Jul 1877 in Goshen, Indiana to Abraham Welty and Lydia Fox, married
Clara A. Lower on 10 Oct 1905 Elkhart County, Indiana.
Charles proved up a quarter in section 27, 5N 46W in 1914. He was delinquent on taxes in subsequent years.
January 16, 1962 South Bend, Indiana "Charles Welty, 84, a native of Elkhart County, died early Monday in the home of his
daughter, Mrs. John Brothers, Englewood, Calif., where he had moved four years ago from Goshen.
Born in Harrison Twp. July 29, 1877, he married Clara Lower in October, 1905.
She died in February 1941. He married Lucy Rowsey in June, 1947. She died June 13, 1958.
Surviving are the daughter in Englewood, two grandchildren and a brother,
Theodore Welty Rt. 3, Goshen.
Friends may call in the Culp Funeral Home here from Wednesday noon until the
hour of the services there, which are tentatively set for 2 p. m Thursday.
Rev. Spencer Gentle, pastor of the First Brethren Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Violett Cemetery. "
