Douglas Ray, 1N 45W



September 1886 Wray "Doug. Ray brought in some corn this week that is hard to down. It is big, plump, and extraordinary. Doug brought in a couple of turnips that were larger than those brought in by Mr. Leche last week."

September 12, 1886 Wray items in the Rocky Mountain News "Mr. William Grigsby, from Nodaway county, Missouri, is visiting his friend, Douglass Ray."

(William W. Grigsby was in Nodaway County in 1880, age 18, adopted son of John and Clarrissa Grigsby. He was living with them in 1900, born November 1861 in Missouri, widowed)

April 1, 1899 Wray "T. C. Jennings and daughter Mary were in Akron Wednesday. T. C. was witness in the Douglas Ray final proof case and Mary was taking care of her papa."

June 1899 "Doug Ray is making hog fence for Mrs. Mason."

Douglas cash-claimed a quarter in section 30, 1N 43W in 1890, next to Edward L. Ray's cash claim in 1891, homestead in 1893, and timber claime in 1894.


Douglas timber-claimed a quarter in 18, 1N 45W in 1899.
He was a witness for Lemuel Hadlock's timber claim in 1899 for land in 2S 45W, with an address of Vernon, Colorado.

In 1900 Denver, Edward L. Ray is a bookkeeper, born August 1861 in Missouri, just married to Mary K., born Novenber 1861 Ohio. Mary's sons George W. Kimble Nov 1891 in Colorado and James E. Kimble Dec 1880 in Ohio are with them.


Edward L. Ray and Mary E. Kimbal, both 51, married in Denver on July 22, 1913....
It was recorded in Conejos County.

In 1910 Denver, Douglass Ray is a railroad carpenter, single, 50, born in Illinois, in a lodging house.

In 1920 Salt Lake City, Douglas is 60, a construction carpenter, in a lodging house.

POSSIBLY

He could have been in Cheyenne County, Nebraska in 1900, a Doug Raye born January 1873 in Missouri, father in Indiana, mother in Iowa. He was a laborer, iboarding with the George Kushmaul family.
