"Sylvia Fern (Pierce) Anderes, "Sib", 98, a lifelong resident of Fredonia, Kansas and Neodesha, Kansas, died Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha. She was born March 29, 1917 in Altoona, Kansas, the daughter of Harvey Wray and Emma Francis (Shoemaker) Pierce. She was a homemaker. On January 6, 1937 in Fredonia, she was united in marriage to Melvin T. Anderes. To this union, five children were born. Melvin preceded her in death December 14, 1981. Sylvia loved to play cards and bingo and going to the casinos. Her survivors include: Two daughters: Darlene North of Fredonia, KS Linda & Aron Martin of Neodesha, KS Two daughters-in-law: Patty Anderes of Erie, KS Debbie Anderes of Oklahoma City, OK 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Marvin, Herman and Larry Anderes; a grandson, Herman Leon Anderes, Jr.; brothers, Lewis, Chet, Luther and Earl Pierce; sisters, Goldie Biggs and Anna Mae Larcom; and infant twin siblings. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Timmons Funeral Home with Danny Sims officiating. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. "
