"Robert H. Dickson, an aged and nlghly respected citizen of west of Vernon, was called by the silent hand of death last Sunday evening, after an illness that has lasted the greater portion of the summer. Mr. Dickson was nearly 80 years old, and owing to the infirmities attendant upon one of this age, could not withstand the ravages of disease, and last Sunday he peacefully fell asleep. The funeral services were held Tuesday by Rev. Lanning, assisted by Rev. Ray, the burial being at Glendale. Mr. Dickson was an old resident of the neighborhood, and was held in high esteem by all. He leaves a widow and a son to mourn his demise, and to them the sympathy of all is extended."

May 2, 1912 " The funeral service of Mrs. Cloie Hadlock Dickson, the notice of whose death appeared in last week's Gazette, was held at the Vernon Methodist church last Sunday, April 28, Rev. F. W. Imboden, pastor of the Wray Methodist church officiating. The remains were buried in the Glendale cemetery.
The deceased was born in Vermilion county, Illinois, June 22, 1883. At the age of two years, she moved with her parents to Nebraska and a few years later the family came to Yuma county. At the age of fifteen, she joined the Methodist church and in 1902 became a member of the Pentacostal Union Church. In 1903, she was united in marriage to Edgar Dickson. A few months after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Dickson went to Denver as missionaries for the Pentacostal church and later they went to New Jersey where they were making their home at the time of her death. Mrs. Dickson died on April 23, 1912 in the state of New Jersey.
She leaves her husband, a daughter, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hadlock of this county, two sisters and a brother to mourn her death. The family have the sympathy of a large circle of acquaintances and friends in this community."

June 12, 1913 "Miss Bertha Sharp of Wray and Edgar Dickson of this precinct were quietly married in Wray , last Thursday evening at six oclock by Miss Rachel Dangerficld . They returned to their home northwest of Vernon Friday morning."

"Edgar Dickson, a son of Mrs. J. H. Dickson of Vernon, passed away January 9, 1943. He was born near New Hartford, in Pike county, Illinois, on August 16, 1882. He came to Colorado in November 1900, and on January 25, 1903, was married to Chloe Hadlock. One child, Elsie Barker, of Issaquah, Washington, survives from this union. His wife died in 1911. On June 5, 1913, Mr. Dickson was married to Bertha M. Sharp, who survives him. Seven children were born to this union - Eddie of Baltimore, Maryland, Leslie of Oakland, California, Lucy, Robert, Donald, Wava and Kenneth of Denver.
The deceased was converted early in life and after farming a few years, he answered a call to preach and at the time of his death he had been an officer in the Volunteers of America. As a husband and father he was always thoughtful and kind, and in words of the Psalm it could be said of him, "I have set the Lord allways before me."

" William John Russell, Jr., age 78, of Grand Junction, CO, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at his home with his family at his side. He was born on September 13, 1929 in Denver, Colorado, the son of Mildred (Quinn) and William J. Russell, Sr. William married Wava Dickson on October 1, 1949 in Aurora, Colorado. He was in the United States Navy from 1947-1971, served in the Korean War and Vietnam conflict and retired in Fallon, Nevada as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. During his service, William and his family were stationed at many Naval Stations in the South Pacific and stateside, and traveled the world together. William enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He loved to care for his yard and spent hours working outside. He will be missed by his loving wife, Wava of Grand Junction, a son William J. (Catherine) Russell III of Denver, a daughter Linda Russell of Grand Junction, six grandchildren, Lacey, Billy, Tommy. Rachel, Taylor and Matthew, daughter-in-law Shawnee Jackson of Paso Robles, California, sister Darlene Peet of Denver, and numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents, son, Thomas Michael RusselL sisters, Patricia April and Dorothy McKenzie preceded him in death."
