In the mid-1950's Cynthina Ann WOODWARD Monk was struggling with diabetes, leading to the amputation of one leg. She had been living on the farm, but was getting unable to care for herself at night. She wrote these three letters to Zella, the oldest of her six children. Zella was living in Wray, Bill in Greeley, and living near her were Bert, Phoebe, Beulah, and Dale.

Ruby was Cynthia's younger sister. She had married Jess Dickson and lived in Yuma. The Haxtun Corn Festival was usually in October. John Barker - son of George and Wilma - would be in the third grade about 1956.

I don't have the rest of this letter. It mentions a lot of neighbors (Hardings, Newbanks, Bates, Schafers, Morans, Barkers) Randy is Max and Bev Schafer's son. Lottie was Albert's sister. "Aunt Mary" was Cynthia's older sister, living in California.
