Ray Keenan (holding dog "Peggy"), Grace, Reye, Mary E Woodward Keenan (Grandy), Bertha, Charles "Chuck" Keenan, Frederic, Harry Frederic James Allen.

Bertha Keenan Allen, Frederic Allen, Mary E Woodward Keenan, Forrest Allen (infant). Four generations! This must have been the latter half of 1949, because I was born in July, and I (Forrest Allen - the contributor) look pretty young; that would make Bertha about 63, and Mary E about 81.

Joyce JAMESON Lutes went to a one-room elementary school in the sandhills of Thomas County, Nebraska (way north of North Platte). She and her brother had to live with their grandparents in Wray, Colorado to go to high school. Bert and Jennie (Joyce's aunt) Monk would keep them on weekends, and Joyce wrote in 2011:
"On several occasions boxes of clothing would arrive from the West Coast; sent by Aunt Mary. The Monk families would get together and distribute the contents of the boxes. Each family would get to choose what they wanted and go around in that sequence until the lovely clothing was gone. Everyone was so excited and marvelled at such beautiful and good quality clothing. I was especially excited because they let me draw a number and I received some beautiful items that my family could never have afforded and I felt well dressed and proud and I was so grateful to be included in such a loving family. I'm sure Aunt Mary received letters of thanks from the families she helped. It would have been so nice if she could have seen the joy and thankfulness expressed at these times by relatives. That was such a wonderful ministry shown by a generous, loving aunt to those less fortunate. I'm sure God blessed her for her efforts and generosity and love shown to others."
