"Mary German Wyatt is listed as a widow on 1860 census and daughter Mary was born Sept 1860, Military records show Harmon H Wyatt enlisted in Company I, Indiana 72nd Infantry Regiment on 07 Jul 1862. Mustered out on 24 Jul 1865 at Nashville, TN"

August 6, 1909 Wray "Mrs. Mary Shegan, mother of Mrs. Fowler, who makes her home with the Fowler family, was injured by a fall last Thursday, while stepping onto the porch. Mrs. Shegan is past seventy years old and her injuries are somewhat dangerous. She is being attended by County Health Officer E. J. Bales."

"Mrs. Mary Chezen died Friday, September 23, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. E. Fowler, living nine miles west of town. The deceased was 73 yrs., 5 mos., and 22 days old and had been an invalid for some years. She came to this county with the family of her daughter from McCook, Nebraska. The funeral was held at the residence Sunday, Sept. 25, at 10 o'clock a. m., Rev. F. W. Imboden, pastor of the Wray Methodist church, officiating. The burial was made in Grandview cemetery."

"Mrs. Chesem, mother of Mrs. A. D. Fowler, living about seven miles from town, and coming here from McCook about a year ago, died at the home of her daughter last Saturday. Funeral services were held at the residence Sunday morning at ten o'clock by Rev. F. W. Imboden. Burial at Grandview cemetery."

"A funeral for Daisy Elnora Battreall of Tahuya, Wash., a former Portland resident, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Killingsworth Little Chapel of the Chimes. Private interment will be in Skyline Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Battreall died of causes related to age Monday in a Bremerton, Wash., care center. She was 92.
She was born July 27, 1897, in Atchison, Kan. Her maiden name was Clary. She married John H. Battreall in 1914 in Wray, Colo. The couple moved to Portland from Nebraska in 1942.
Mrs. Battreall was a homemaker. Her husband died in 1962. She had lived in Washington since 1978.
Survivors include her daughters, Ethel Mae Bahrman of Vancouver, Wash., and Helen E. Woods of Tahuya, Wash.; sons, Eugene of Skamokawa, Wash., and Robert H. of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; sisters, Goldie Pinske of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Effie Clary of Pittsburg, Calif.; brothers, Charlie Clary of Greeley, Colo., and Bert Clary of Otis; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great – and great-great grandchildren."

Charles Henry 'Charlie' Clary, 95, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2002 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, Neb.Mr. Clary was born on Oct. 2, 1906, in Orleans, Neb., to John William and Emma Jane (Thurston) Clary. He attended school until the eighth grade when he quit to help his parents. At the age of 16, he worked for the next 13 years at the sugar factory in Bayard, Neb. He then helped build the railroad station in McCook and worked on a farm. Later he worked for the Monument Station and the McCook Hotel as a cook. In 1938, Charlie started his own trucking business hauling furniture, rolls of paper for the McCook Daily Gazette, and cattle until 1976. He also was employed at the West Sale Barn for several years.On Aug. 14, 1928, he married Martha Clamp. They lived all their married life on a farm south of McCook until 1936, when they moved into town. They had six children. Martha died Aug. 8, 1969.In 1979, Mr. Clary moved to Greeley. On July 22, 1980, he married Effie Lammers. She also is deceased.Mr. Clary returned to McCook in January 2000. He enjoyed his grandchildren, visits and phone calls, bowling, and going on rides.Survivors are his children, Alice Marks of Culbertson, Neb., Betty Sprenkle of Phoenix, Viola McBride of Colorado Springs, George Clary of Coal Valley, Ill., and Delbert Clary of Englewood; 29 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.A daughter Doris died at birth, and six sisters, Daisy, Etta, Goldie, Minervia, Annie and Effie; two brothers, Bert and Orvil; a stepbrother, James; and a granddaughter Kimberly are deceased.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in McCook.Memorials are being accepted in his name.Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements."
