A daughter, Rachel Edna was born 25 Apr 1918 in Otis, Washington County, Colorado. Rachel graduated from Sterling High School in 1936

Ray served in the United States Army during World War I. He had a US military record dated 29 Nov 1918. He received the medal from a grateful Burdett Community, seen in the picture below

He lived in the Rock Creek census district of Washington Coounty in 1920. There is not town by that name. The towns of the Rock Creek District were Burdett and Lone Star. The school district at the time was Lone Star District 30.
