W.F. HEIMER SERVICE HELD SATURDAY

 

Walter F. Heimer, well known farmer and 40-year resident of this community, passed away Tuesday night of last week, December 23, 1958, at his home a few miles southwest of Holyoke.

 

Mr. Heimer had been in poor health for some time and was a patient at the Phillips County hospital for several weeks. He was taken home Tuesday and a family dinner was served there that day. Mr. Heimer passed away in his sleep Tuesday night. He was 75 years of age.

 

Services were conducted at 2:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Holyoke Church of Christ (Christian), with Rev. Stanley Bouchard in charge. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park. Arrangements were in charge of the Lewis Funeral Home.

 

Walter Frank Heimer, a son of John and Margaret Heimer, was born December 26, 1882, on a farm southeast of Hebron, Nebraska. He grew to manhood there and was united in marriage to Blanche E. Roos on February 21, 1906.

 

To this union three children were born, Glenn A., Bernice (Mrs. Robert Ferguson), and Harold, all of Holyoke. The family moved to what is now the Jack Stahl farm south of Holyoke in 1919. Two years later they moved to the farm southwest of town which has been the W.F. Heimer home since that time.

 

As a young man Mr. Heimer was baptized and united with the Liberty Ridge Christian church near Hebron, Nebraska. He was a faithful member of the church and served as an elder in the Holyoke Christian church for many years.

 

Surviving are his wife, Blanche; the three children already mentions; three brothers, Ora, Rudolph and John Heimer, all of Hebron; 10 grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
