Amherst News: Mrs. William Grandorff and her daughter, Mrs. George Mawhiney of Cordova, Nebraska and her grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mawhiney of Lincoln, Nebraska, arrived here Saturday morning to attend the funeral services of Mrs. Grandorff’s sister,
Miss Matilda Schnase, who died at her home near Hudson, Colorado last week was a resident and land owner in this community many years ago, and at that time she owned the farm on which the Amherst cemetery is located
Funeral services were conducted in the Amherst Church at 3:30 on Saturday and her remains were laid to rest in the Amherst cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl and Merle Schmidt, Rex Leben, Dalvin Krueger, Vernell Meinte and Claude Jung.
