Funeral services were held Friday, October 12, 1973, from the United Methodist Church, Holyoke, for Sarah Church, 67, who passed away Tuesday, October 9, at Logan County Hospital, Sterling.
Rev. Evan Brian, minister of the church officiated at the services. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park.
Sarah Alice McCord Church, one of eight children of Roy N. and Bertha Davis McCord, was born September 27, 1906, in Fairbury, Nebraska.
She received her education in the Fairbury schools, graduating with the class of 1923. She taught in the rural Jefferson County schools for five years.
Sarah was married to Edward Jule Church May 30, 1928. They moved to Holyoke that same year, living here for 13 years before moving to Sedgwick in 1941. They returned to Holyoke in 1965, where they were living at the time of her death.
She was employed at Sheridan Manor nursing home in Holyoke for six years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Henry.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Jule; six children, Mrs. Dale (Shirley) Kinney, Norwood; William E., Roggin; Lyle N., Sterling; Kenneth L., Nucla; Roger L., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Charles, Sterling.
Five sisters, Mrs. Ruth Potter, Sumner, Washington; Mrs. Helen Gray Brooks, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Pat Drees, Caldwell, Idaho; Mrs. Wilma Ried, Walnut Grove, Missouri; Mrs. Ruby Snyder; and a brother, Roy D. McCord, both of Fairbury, Nebraska; 25 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
