SERVICES HELD FOR OLE HANSEN
Long Time Resident of Amherst and Holyoke Dies Following Stroke
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the First Methodist Church for Ole Hansen; aged 75, former resident of Holyoke and Amherst who died Wednesday night at a local hospital following a stroke.
Rev. Clare J. Hayes, pastor of the church, was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Holyoke cemetery.
Three numbers were sung by a make quartet. W.O. Norman, A.R. Church, D.F. Sagehorn, Perl Balderson, Henry Runge and Charles P.A. Kayser were pallbearers.
Ole Hansen, son of Hans Hansen and Sophia Hansen, was born February 4, 1867 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He was baptized and confirmed in the Danish Lutheran church while a boy in Denmark. In 1887 he came to the United States and settled in Nebraska, where he lived until 1909 when he moved to Colorado, living in the Amherst and Holyoke vicinities.
He was married March 17, 1894 to Metha Dinnsen, mother of their four children. Preceding him in death were his father and mother and one son, Walter, who died in infancy.
Surviving him is his wife, one son, Elmer of Holyoke, and two daughters, Mrs. George (Agnes) Hargreaves, Mrs. A.O. (Malvina) Krueger of Los Angeles, California, and nine grandchildren.
