MYRLE FOSTER RITES JANUARY 13

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 13, 1976 from the First Baptist Church in Holyoke for Myrle C. Foster, 73, who passed away Saturday, January 10, at Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke.

 

Rev. Joe Stewart, minister of the church, officiated at the services. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park. Thompson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

 

Myrle Clarence Foster was born in the village of Brule, in Rusk County, Wisconsin on April 16, 1902, the son of Ernest L. Foster and Maude Ballard Foster.

 

Most of his early life and schooling was spent in Lynch, Nebraska. Myrle lived for a year in Boulder with his Uncle Rob.

 

He moved as a young man to Holyoke, where he met his wife Laura. Myrle and Laura Griffith were married in Sterling on February 10, 1924.

 

He worked as a barber and later owned the same barber shop on Interocean Avenue in Holyoke since 1922.

 

He was preceded in death by his sister, Ethel, in 1961 and a nephew Joey Brown.

 

He is survived by his widow, Laura; three nieces, Mrs. Joanne Person, Pine Bluffs, Wyoming; Mrs. Norma Jean McKenzie, and Miss Rita Brown, Clearfield, Utah; one nephew, Pierre Passieux, Boise, Idaho, and a host of friends.
